A transport device for transferring rod-like articles, the device comprising: a first conveyor configured to transfer the rod-like articles as a multilayer stream in a first transferring direction; a second conveyor configured to transfer the rod-like articles as the multilayer stream in a second transferring direction opposite to the first transferring direction; wherein the first conveyor is located at least partially above the second conveyor; a transferring channel for transferring the rod-like articles from the first conveyor to the second conveyor in a third transferring direction, the transferring channel being formed by a first wall located at the end of the first conveyor and a second wall distanced from the first wall by a distance equal to a width of the multilayer stream of the rod-like articles, wherein the second wall is located above the second conveyor; wherein at least the first conveyor and the transferring channel are movable in a first conveyor displacing direction corresponding to the first transferring direction or to the second transferring direction. The first wall forms a cover of the first conveyor; and the first wall is shaped such that there is a variable distance between the first wall and the second wall in a transverse direction that is transverse with respect to the third transferring direction of the rod-like articles in the transferring channel.

Transport device for transferring rod-like articles

A method of emptying trays filled with rod-shaped articles produced in the tobacco industry, which consist of the following stages: the trays designated for emptying are conveyed to the input area of a hopper containing adjacent channels separated by dividers; the rod-shaped articles are transferred from the tray to the channels of the hopper using support plates; the channels of the hopper are filled with the rod-shaped articles; the support plates are retracted from the channels of the hopper; the channels of the hopper are successively emptied into a chute adapted to move between channel outlets of the hopper; finally, the rod-shaped articles are transferred from the channels of the hopper and through the chute to the discharge conveyor moving towards the receiving device. The method is further characterized in that during emptying at least one channel () of the hopper (), the hopper () moves linearly in the direction (S) opposite to the direction (T) in which the rod-shaped articles are transported by the discharge conveyor (); and after the channel () has been completely emptied, the hopper () moves in the direction (S) concurrent with the direction (T) in which the rod-shaped articles are transported by the discharge conveyor (), until it achieves a position in which the outlet of the next channel filled with rod-shaped articles is aligned with the inlet () of the chute (), whereas the hopper () moves at a variable velocity when moving in the direction (S) concurrent with the direction (T) in which the rod-shaped articles are transported by the conveyor.

Method of emptying trays filled with rod-shaped articles of the tobacco industry

An intermediate hopper () in a tobacco industry apparatus () for vertical conveying of a mass-flow of rod-like articles (R) comprising sidewalls () and multiple partitions () partitioning the intermediate hopper () into vertical channels () which are adapted to receive the rod-like articles (R) from above, whereas the intermediate hopper () is provided with a movable transferring element () being slidable relative to the partitions () of the intermediate hopper (), in addition, the transferring element () is built of supporting plates (A,A) which support the mass-flow of the rod-like articles (R) in the vertical channels () of the intermediate hopper () above the supporting plates (A,A), whereas the supporting plates (A,A) are adapted to move downwards (A) within the vertical channels () and to move upwards (C) outside the vertical channels (), in addition, the supporting plates (A,A) are adapted to be inserted (D) into the channels () in the area of the channel inlets (C,C) and to be pulled out (B) of the vertical channels () in the area of the channel outlets (E,E), characterized in that at least the outermost supporting plate (A) of the transferring element () is adapted to make a movement in the transverse direction to the direction of movement of the other supporting plates (A). The object of the application is also a feeding apparatus for the feeding with the rod-like articles of the tobacco industry, and an apparatus for emptying of a tray filled with the tobacco industry articles.

A cleaning system for a transporting and storing device having adjustable capacity for tobacco industry rod-like elements, the device comprising at least one circular conveyor located on a stationary support element of the device and at least one circular conveyor of the device located on a rotary support element, wherein the conveyors are arranged one above another. The cleaning system comprises a plurality of cleaning units attached to the support elements and oriented towards a transporting surface of the conveyor located below a corresponding cleaning unit of the plurality of cleaning units and configured to remove contaminations from the transporting surface of the conveyor. At least a first cleaning unit of the plurality of cleaning units is attached to the stationary support element and at least a second cleaning unit of the plurality of cleaning units is attached to the rotary support element.

Cleaning system for a transporting and storing device having adjustable capacity for tobacco industry rod-like elements

The subject of the application is a device which supports mass flow of rod-shaped articles of the tobacco industry in a transport channel, having at least two segments () connected by a connecting element (), characterised in that the segments () are provided with positioning means () which mate with the elements of the conveyor to set the position of the supporting device relative to the elements of the conveyor (). Furthermore, the subject of the application is a method of supporting mass flow of rod-shaped articles of the tobacco industry in a transport channel section characterised in that a supporting device () is introduced into the transport channel in the inlet part of the section being filled up provided with positioning means () which with the elements of the conveyor set the position of the supporting device relative to the elements of the conveyor belt (), subsequently, the mass flow of rod-shaped articles is started in such a way so that the face of the mass flow is supported on the last segment of the supporting device, after which the travel of the belt of the conveyor in the remaining part of the section of the transport channel being filled up is started such that the mass flow of rod-shaped articles fills up the space of the channel section, supported on the last segment of the supporting device.

Device for supporting a mass flow of rod-shaped articles of the tobacco industry in a transport channel and a method of filling and emptying the transport channel

Docking station () with a clearing device for a channel () for the mass flow of rod-shaped articles () used in the tobacco industry, provided with storage means () containing the clearing device () wherein the storage means are adapted in such a way that they are led in into the channel in response to a signal of presence of the end face of mass flow at the place at which the clearing device is led in or out; moving means () for inserting the clearing device into the channel after the storage means have been led in into the channel; furthermore, the storage means are adapted in such a way that they are led out of the installation channel in response to the signal of presence of the end face of the cleaning device in the channel.

The insert may have different shapes. A device for unloading compartment trays made of a dielectric material and provided with an ionizer disposed horizontally along the linear transporter, in the zone of feeding of the trays with its nozzles turned in the direction of the inside of the bottom of the tray.

A device for unloading compartment trays holding rod shaped elements, for use in the tobacco industry, is disclosed. The device includes an inlet conveyor for full trays, an unloading conveyor for unloading rod shaped elements into a throat, a conveyor for out-feeding stacks of rod shaped elements that have been unloaded into the throat, and an outlet conveyor for empty trays. A linear transporter for the trays has a gripping unit that grips the full trays and moves the full trays for unloading into the throat, and a second gripping unit that grips the empty trays and moves the empty trays for cleaning in a cleaning mechanism.

Apparatus and method for filling under gravity from a hopper (), a storage device () for articles that has the form of a columnar cavity between opposed side walls with a mass flow of mutually parallel rod-shaped articles descending from the hopper, a cavity-filling device () that alternates in use between a closed configuration that blocks a downward flow of the said articles through the device and an open configuration that allows flow of the articles through the device, the device being movable in translation, in alternate upward and downward strokes within the cavity, being in the closed configuration on the downward stroke and in the open configuration on the upward stroke.

System having a transitory store (S), in the inlet zone () of which, there are disposed fillers () for compartment trays, to which rod shaped elements are delivered by in-feed conveyors () in form of mass flow from making machines (), and each machine is assigned with a separate filler (). Assembly having a plurality of conveyors () and a variable capacity store () with one inlet () and one outlet () formed on two neighboring levels, a lower one () and an upper one (), closed with a common back plate (), fixed to a slide () making reciprocating movements, the concave surface () of which, on the interior side of the store () constitutes a conveyor (), provided with a rotary arm, fixed to a slide (), the axis of rotation of which is coaxial with a center of curvature of the surface () of the back plate (), and at the inlet () there is a swing mounted valve element () and a swing limiter () for displacing rod shaped elements (), whereas at the outlet () there is swing mounted valve element (). Moreover the invention presents a method of controlling mass flow of rod shaped elements in the store () and self-filling and self-emptying of the store () constituting a part of the assembly disposed in a production line of products of tobacco industry.
