A drawer assembly is provided for a refrigeration appliance. The drawer assembly comprises a unitary storage bin configured to move relative to the cooled compartment. The storage bin is defined by a front wall, a rear wall and opposed sidewalls that are arranged substantially parallel to the first and second interior walls of the cooled compartment. An uppermost portion of each of the opposed sidewalls comprises a projecting edge. The rear wall comprises a reinforced edge that inhibits deflection. A pair of linear motion elements is installed to enable movement of the storage bin in and out of the cooled compartment. A pair of support brackets couples the pair of linear motion elements.

Drawer assembly

A hinge assembly is provided for pivotally mounting a door on a refrigerator cabinet. The refrigerator cabinet includes a top wall, a bottom wall, a pair of opposed side walls extending between the bottom and top wall, and a face that is normal to the top wall, bottom wall, and opposed side walls. The hinge assembly includes a hinge bracket, hinge pin, and door stop member. The hinge bracket is attachable to the cabinet and includes a threaded aperture having a first end and a second end. The hinge pin defines an axis about which the door can rotate and is threadably insertable into either end of the threaded aperture. The door stop member is configured to rotate about the axis and prohibit rotation of the door beyond a certain position.

Hinge assembly for a refrigerator

A storage system for storing food items in a temperature-controlled environment includes a rail attached to a liner panel. The rail includes at least one mounting structure that passes through an aperture in the liner panel. A bin has an arm extending from a rear surface of the bin. The bin is placed in a storage position. The arm is placed between the rail and the liner panel when the bin is placed in the storage position. Another example of the storage system and refrigeration appliance includes a foot extending from a rear surface of the bin. Yet another example includes interaction between a bin tab and a plurality of bumps on the rail to prevent side to side motion.

Rail door bin system

A door for a refrigerator appliance is pivotally connected by a hinge. The door includes a polygonal shell having corners and defining at least part of a cavity therein and a hinge bearing mounted to the polygonal shell adjacent one of the corners. The hinge bearing extends into the cavity and defines a generally cylindrical passage to receive and journal a hinge pin of the refrigerator appliance. A reinforcement tube is secured to the hinge bearing and extends a distance within the cavity. The reinforcement tube includes a sidewall that defines a hollow interior, and at least one hole extends through the sidewall to provide communication between the cavity and the hollow interior. Insulation is foamed in place that substantially fills the cavity including the corner, and the insulation penetrates into the hollow interior of the reinforcement tube via the at least one hole.

Insulated door assembly

Provided is a storage system and a refrigeration appliance including the storage system for storing food items in a temperature-controlled environment. The storage system includes a rail attached to a liner panel. The rail includes at least one mounting structure configured to pass through an aperture in the liner panel. A bin has an arm extending from a rear surface of the bin. The bin is placed in a storage position. The arm is placed between the rail and the liner panel when the bin is placed in the storage position. Another example of the storage system and refrigeration appliance includes a foot extending from a rear surface of the bin. Yet another example includes interaction between a bin tab and a plurality of bumps on the rail to prevent side to side motion.

A refrigerator assembly includes a cabinet having one or more compartments and a door configured to provide access to the one or more compartments. The refrigerator assembly further includes a mullion portion movably attached with respect the door and a hinge assembly attaching the mullion portion to the door such that the mullion portion is rotatably movable with respect to the door about a rotational axis between a first position and a second position. The refrigerator assembly further includes a leaf spring and a cam structure. The cam structure includes a first recess for receiving the leaf spring when the mullion portion is in the first position. The cam structure further includes a second recess for receiving the leaf spring when the mullion portion is in the second position.

A soft freeze assembly is provided within a freezer compartment of a refrigerator assembly. The refrigerator assembly includes a fresh food compartment maintained at a first temperature arranged adjacent the freezer compartment maintained at a second temperature. The soft freeze assembly includes a support structure attached to a wall within the freezer compartment. The soft freeze assembly further includes a storage bin being supported by the support structure and movable with respect to the support structure. The storage bin is structured to allow air exterior from the freezer compartment to enter the storage bin and maintain the storage bin at a third temperature that is colder than the first temperature and warmer than the second temperature.
