UPS systems, methods, and computer-readable mediums utilizing electromechanical bypass relays to switch from an on-line mode of operation to a green/bypass mode of operation include control logic to adaptively adjust the timing of when an inverter of a UPS turns off to prevent backfeeding a utility. After the UPS is instructed to transition from the on-line mode to the green mode, a monitoring period begins. During the monitoring period, a parameter related to the output current of the inverter is monitored and compared to a predetermined threshold. If the parameter exceeds the predetermined threshold before a fixed period time has elapsed, the inverter is turned off early. If the inverter current does not exceed the predetermined value within the fixed period of time, the inverter is turned off.

Method for reducing UPS component stresses during transition from inverter to green/bypass operation

Uninterruptible power supplies, power modules, and non-transitory computer readable mediums storing instructions for operating such power modules, the power modules comprising an input configured to receive AC power from an AC power source, an output configured to provide AC output power to a load, and a plurality of power modules coupled in parallel between the input and the output, each power module of the plurality of power modules configured to provide at least a portion of the AC output power to the output. Each power module of the plurality of power modules comprises a current compensator stage configured to generate a current error signal based on output current of a corresponding power module and a gain adjustment stage configured to adjust the current error signal based on a measurement of the output current and a desired output current of the corresponding power module.

According to one aspect, an uninterruptable power supply (UPS) is provided. The UPS includes a first input constructed to receive input power from a first power source, a second input constructed to receive input power from a second power source, an output constructed to provide output alternating current (AC) power derived from at least one of the first power source and the second power source, a bypass switch having an on state and an off state coupled between the first input and the output, an inverter coupled between the second input and the output and constructed to generate the output AC power. The UPS being constructed to quickly transition from a first power delivery mode that provides output power derived from the first power source to a second power delivery mode that provides output power derived from the second power source.
