The present disclosure is directed towards an LED based trimless recessed light fixture wherein the outermost diffuser lens of the recessed fixture provides illumination and extends outward covering the entire ceiling aperture. No additional decorative trim elements or baffles are required and the diffuser lens both illuminates and covers the ceiling aperture to provide a smooth illuminated unitary appearance. This outermost diffuser lens is illuminated from above by a illumination system which includes a ring support on which the LEDs may be mounted, along with an optical stack which collects light output from the LEDs and both illuminates and redirects the light through the outermost diffuser lens. This outermost diffuser lens provides appearance of smooth continuous illumination output along its entire surface and while also covering aperture edges formed in the ceiling for the recessed fixture.

Trimless recessed light fixture

A mounting plate assembly has a mounting plate for mounting a light fixture in holes of different diameters and wherein a guide rail assembly is secured to a rear face of the mounting plate on opposed sides of an aperture. Each guide rail assembly has a novel displaceable spring clamp structure having to a displaceable base coupled for sliding displacement along a guide rail assembly. Spring biasing elements are provided between the displaceable base and the guide rail assembly to urge a bottom face of the displaceable base against a flat top surface of a mounting base to which the guide rails are secured. A retention formation is provided in the bottom surface of the displaceable base for retention coupling with a selected on of space-apart engageable retainers immovably secured to the flat top surface of the mounting base and aligned with the retention formation to arrest the displaceable base at a desired location to position the spring clamp structures at a desired location with respect to the size of a hole formed in the sheet material and to which a light fixture is to be secured.

Light fixture mounting bracket assembly

A mounting plate assembly is disclosed having two or more spring clamp structures each being displaceably engageable with a respective guide slot formed on a rear face of the mounting plate. Each spring clamp structure has a spring support bracket provided with a bottom retention base displaceably retained captive by their guide slot. The spring support bracket may have a securing sleeve slidingly coupled thereto and displaceable along a vertical axis to the mounting plate. The spring support bracket may have a retention spring coupled thereto. The securing sleeve and the retention spring each have one or more arresting formations for retention coupling with selected ones of the two or more spaced-apart retention formations disposed spaced-apart along the guide slot when the support bracket is positioned over selected ones of the retention formations.

An LED light fixture, in the form of lamps or luminaires, is comprised on a plurality of LED lights producing bright white or warm light and a plurality of color LED lights producing light of a visibly different color. The fixture includes control circuitry for receiving an input voltage signal from a dimmer switch wherein when the dimmer switch reduces the input voltage to the LED light fixture within a top range setting of the dimmer switch, the brightness of the light is maintained while the color Kelvin temperature of the light spectrum is reduced. If the dimmer switch is increased in the top range, the color temperature increases. This is achieved by increasing the frequency of a reduced input voltage signal during a reduction of the dimmer switch in the top range thereof to supply full driver current to the white or warm light LED's while reducing the driver current to the color LED's. When the dimmer switch is operated below the top range both drive currents to the while and color LED's is reduced to provide a warm relaxing light spectrum but with substantially high luminosity/brightness.

Dimmable LED light fixture maintaining brightness during color temperature change

A surface mountable spotlight is comprised by a light directing housing having a rear mounting plate. A light emitting source is mounted in the light directing housing for emitting light out of the open end of the housing. The mounting plate has a contour configuration adapted to conceal a mounting opening formed in a support sheet material behind which is located an electrical connection to a power source. An electrical connector is mounted in the rear surface of the rear mounting plate. Retention spring arms are secured to the rear surface of the rear mounting plate which permits for removable attachment of the rear mounting plate against an inner surface of the support sheet material. A junction box is adapted for connection to the power source and to the electrical connector to supply power to the light emitting source which in a preferred embodiment is an LED light source.

Surface mountable spotlight housing

A recessed light fixture assembly for securement in a hole formed in a sheet material and wherein the assembly is comprised of a light source support module having an electrical connector for securing a power source thereto for energising the light source, Two or more open-ended light constraining tubular members are each adapted for immovable securement to the light source support module for interconnecting a selected one of the two or more open-ended light constraining tubular members to the light source support module. A first one of the two or more open-ended light constraining tubular members has a trim collar extending in a transverse plane about an outer end thereof. A further of the open-ended light constraining tubular members has a plaster collar extending in a transverse plane spaced a predetermined distance about an outer end thereof. The light source support module has a retention mechanism to retain the recessed light fixture with the selected one of the first and further open-ended light constraining tubular members connected thereto in the hole with its collar held firmly against an outer surface of the sheet material about the hole.

Recessed light fixture assembly with interchangeable trim collar

A system and method for independently adjusting the correlated color temperature (CCT) and brightness of a light source having two or more color LED's or LED sets, with each color LED or LED set having a different correlated color temperature. A user person can selectively enable a selected one of the two or more color LED's or LED sets and adjust the brightness thereof and repeat the selection of the second color LED or LED set and adjust the brightness thereof. By independently selecting the color LED or LED set and modifying the brightness thereof, a desired light atmosphere can be created by adjusting the output color mixture of the LED's or LED sets and controlling the brightness of the combination of the color LED's or LED sets. The selection of individual color LED's and the brightness adjustment thereof can be made by a mechanical operable control device or by remote wireless control device.

System and method for independently adjusting color and brightness of LED's of different CCT of a light source

A ceiling mountable LED light fixture is described and wherein at least two sets of LED's of different correlated color temperatures (CCT) are mounted in its housing. The LED light fixture is adapted to be removably secured in a housing mounting hole in a ceiling sheeting material. A cable is secured to the light fixture to supply drive current to the LED sets. A toggle switch is mounted in the cable in close proximity to the light fixture. The cable also has a predetermined length and is also secured at a far end to a driver circuit mounted in a driver housing. The driver housing is positioned behind the ceiling sheeting material spaced from the housing mounting hole. The toggle switch is made accessible and visible by simply withdrawing the light fixture from its mounting hole and by displacing a slide switch button to select one of three positions to energize a selected one of both sets of LED's or both sets of LED's simultaneously whereby to cause the LED light fixture to generate one of three different color temperature (CCT) light.
