Embodiments relate to devices, systems and methods of assisting blood flow return to the heart from a limb. The device comprising a wearable garment () and a compression apparatus () embedded in the garment () for applying an external compression according to a compression sequence to a muscle of a limb of a user based on real-time measurements regarding a cardiac cycle having a diastolic phase and systolic of the user and real-time measurements of muscle activity. The compression sequence is synchronized to comment when both the local blood flow at the limb is in the diastolic phase and the muscle is in a non-contracted state.

The device comprising a wearable garment and a compression apparatus embedded in the garment for applying an external compression to a limb of a user and at least one of a processor or a controller configured to control the compression apparatus to apply the external compression, according to a compression sequence, to a muscle of the limb of the user based on real-time measurements regarding a cardiac cycle having a diastolic phase and systolic phase of the user and real-time measurements of muscle activity. The compression sequence is synchronized to commence when both a local blood flow at the limb is in the diastolic phase and the muscle is in a non-contracted state.

System and method for synchronizing external compression of a limb for increased blood

A system including a compressible element configured to compress a muscle in a limb of a user, a controller configured to control a sequence, rate or amount of compression of the compressible element, and a generator configured to move a working fluid to compress the compressible element as controlled by the controller. The sequence, rate or amount of compression of the compressible element is established to reduce an amount of effort expended by a heart of a user to move a volume of blood. Another system and a method are also disclosed.
