Devices for generating and releasing vapor. In particular, described herein are portable devices for generating a low-temperature inhalable vapor having an elongated tubular body containing a vaporization chamber and a battery-powered heater, a removable mouthpiece covering the vaporization chamber, a display configured to indicate the temperature of the vaporization chamber; a microcontroller configured to regulate the temperature of the vaporization chamber, and a control to select from among a variety of temperature settings.

Devices for vaporization of a substance

On-demand, hand-held vaporizer that operates primarily by convection. The vaporizer is configured to permit very rapid (e.g., within a few seconds) heating of air drawn through an oven chamber to a predetermined or selectable vaporizing temperature to vaporize a material (e.g., loose leaf plant material, etc.) that is held in the oven chamber. The vaporizer provides efficient transfer of air being heated as well as rapid delivery of vaporizable material to a user.

On-demand, portable convection vaporizer

A vaporizer device including a vaporizer cartridge configured to efficiently and effectively heat a non-liquid vaporizable material is described. The vaporizer cartridge may include a heating element configured to vaporize the vaporizable material by delivery of heat to the vaporizable material. The cartridge may include a cartridge contact in electrical communication with the heating element. The cartridge contact may be configured to couple to a receptacle contact along a vaporizer body of the vaporizer device having a power source to allow power to pass from the power source to the heating element. The heating element can include electrically resistive features such that current traveling along the heating element can cause the heating element to increase in temperature to within a desired temperature range. Vaporizers and vaporizer systems, which can include a device in communication with a vaporizer, can include one or more features related to control of functions and/or features of the vaporizer, identification of a cartridge and/or a vaporizable material in the cartridge, data exchange (either one-way or two-way) between a cartridge and a vaporizer with which the cartridge is engaged, and the like.

User interface and user experience for a vaporizer device

A vaporizer cartridge configured to efficiently and effectively heat a non-liquid source material that includes a vaporizable material is described. The cartridge may include a heating element including an electrically resistive material and may be configured to vaporize the vaporizable material by delivery of heat to the vaporizable material. The cartridge may include a cartridge contact in electrical communication with the electrically resistive material. The cartridge contact may be configured to couple to a vaporizer contact positioned proximate to a cartridge coupling feature to allow electrical power to pass from the vaporizer device through the electrically resistive material. The electrical power may cause heating of the electrically resistive material and the vaporizable material to result in generation of an aerosol for inhalation by a user. Related systems, methods, and articles of manufacture are also described.

Vaporizers and vaporizer systems, which can include a user device in communication with a vaporizer, can include one or more features related to control of functions and/or features of the vaporizer. A method for locking a vaporizer is provided. The method includes determining whether a vaporizer is within a communication range of a second device. The method further includes locking the vaporizer in response to the vaporizer being within the communication range. The method further includes receiving information associated with a user of the vaporizer. The method further includes determining, based on the received information, an age of the user and unlocking, by the one or more processors and based on the age of the user satisfying a threshold, the vaporizer to activate the operation of the vaporizer.

Vaporizer controls

An apparatus includes a housing including a power source; a reservoir including an inlet, an outlet, and configured to contain vaporizable material and couple to the housing; and a PTCR heating element configured to electrically couple to the power source and heat the vaporizable material to form an aerosol. The PTCR heating element includes an electrical resistivity that varies based on temperature. The electrical resistivity includes an electrical resistivity transition zone including an increase in electrical resistivity over a temperature range such that, when the PTCR heating element is heated to a first temperature within the transition zone, current flow from the power source is reduced to a level that limits further temperature increases of the PTCR heating element. Vaporizer cartridges and vaporizer apparatuses, and methods for making, using and delivering vapor to a user, that are leak-resistant for use with cannabinoids. In particular, described herein are leak-resistant vaporizer cartridges and apparatuses adapted for use with oil-based vaporizable materials includingoils.

Leak-resistant vaporizer device

Vaporization devices, components, and methods of operating the same are described. In some implementations, an apparatus includes a cartridge comprising an aerosol outlet, a fluid storage compartment, a resistive heating element, and first and second cartridge electrical contacts, and a device body comprising a power supply, a receptacle, first and second device electrical contacts, and a controller. When the receptacle at least partially receives the cartridge in two different orientations, the first and second device electrical contacts are configured to couple the first and second cartridge electrical contacts, and the controller is configured to provide power from the power supply to the resistive heating element.

Methods and vaporizer apparatuses that estimate, measure and/or predict the amount of vapor and/or material (including active ingredients) released by the vaporizer apparatus. In particular, described herein are electronic vaporizers and methods of using them that determine a dose/amount of vapor and/or a material in the vapor based primarily or exclusively on the electrical and thermal properties, e.g., power or energy applied to the vaporizing element (e.g., heating coil) and the temperature of the material immediately before and as it is vaporized. Dose information may be used to control operation of the device and/or reported to the user.

Various embodiments of a vaporization device are described that include one or more features, such as for generating a combined inhalable aerosol. In some embodiments, the vaporization device can include one or more heaters that are configured to heat one or more vaporizable materials. Various embodiments of heating elements and heating systems for use in vaporization devices are also described.

Vaporizer device with more than one heating element

A vaporizer device includes a housing including an air inlet, a heating element within the housing and a heat exchanger. The heating element includes a nonlinear positive temperature coefficient of resistance material. The heat exchanger is thermally coupled to the heating element and arranged to receive airflow from the air inlet. The heat exchanger is configured to transfer heat between the heating element and the airflow to produce a heated airflow.
