A panel assembly for an overhead support structure of a vehicle. The panel assembly includes a panel movable relative to the overhead support structure between a stowed position and an open position. One or more actuators release the panel from the stowed position. The actuators include first and second bodies arranged together and configured to move relative to each other and with the first body movable relative to the overhead support structure between first and second positions. The first position orients the second body at a first angular position relative to the overhead support structure that engages a catch on the second body with a latch pin. The second position orients the second body at a different second angular position relative to the overhead support structure to release the catch from the latch pin and thereby release the panel from the stowed position.

Panel assembly for a vehicle

A system and method for relieving pressure from a passenger cabin of an aircraft during a decompression event with a resettable decompression system. The system includes a resettable decompression retainer having a swing arm pivotably connected to a base. The swing arm has a bias relative to the base provided by a spring connected to both the swing arm and the base. The swing arm engages a slip fitting that is attached to a ceiling panel of the aircraft. The resettable decompression system allows the ceiling panel to move thus allowing air pressures between a passenger cabin and a crown space to equalize. After a decompression event, the resettable decompression retainer can be manually reset without the use of tools and without repairing or replacing the resettable decompression retainer.

A stowage bin lighting assembly for mounting to an internal cabin of a vehicle includes a chassis having a plate extending longitudinally between ends. The chassis supports light mount pedestals, wire standoffs, and at least one valance support above the upper surface. The stowage bin lighting assembly includes a light mounted to the light mount pedestals positioned above the plate by the light mount pedestals for providing lighting from the stowage bin assembly to the internal cabin of the vehicle. The stowage bin lighting assembly includes a wire electrically connected to the light to supply power to the light and coupled to at least one of the wire standoffs to control a position of the wire relative to the plate. The stowage bin lighting assembly includes a valance coupled to the valance mount pedestals configured to be coupled to the stowage bin assembly by the valance support.

An aircraft panel system including a first panel, having a hinged coupling configured to couple the first panel to an aircraft structure, a second panel disposed adjacent to the first panel such that the first panel and the second panel together form cabin surface of an aircraft, and a latch mechanism configured to releasably couple the second panel to the aircraft structure, where the first panel is configured to pivot about the hinged coupling from a latched position to an actuation position to actuate the latch mechanism and cause a release of the second panel from the latch mechanism.

Aircraft panel system, aircraft, and method of operating the aircraft panel system

An assembly to connect a panel to a support member. The assembly may include a saddle fitting configured to connect to the support member and including first and second plates. A back fitting may be positioned between the second plate of the saddle fitting and a second face of the panel. An index fitting includes a flange that may be positioned between the first plate of the saddle fitting and a first face of the panel, and a boss that extends outward from the flange and through the opening in the panel. The index fitting is wider than the panel and sized to fit within the gap of the saddle fitting with a first end of the index fitting contacting against the first plate and a second end of the index fitting contacting against the second plate. One or more fasteners may connect the saddle fitting to the index fitting.

Assembly to connect a panel to a support member

A retaining assembly and method for use within an internal cabin of an aircraft, in which the retaining assembly includes a hinge including a biasing member. The hinge is moveable between a retaining position, in which the biasing member is configured to exert a biasing force into a top surface of a ceiling panel within an internal cabin of a vehicle to prevent the ceiling panel from upward motion, and a release position, in which the hinge is configured to be pivoted away from the ceiling panel and the biasing member is configured to be separated from the ceiling panel.

Ceiling retaining assemblies and methods for an internal cabin of a vehicle

An oxygen box is secured in an oxygen box hole through a panel of an aircraft cabin by fasteners that are positioned in an interior volume of the oxygen box and are inserted through holes in a back wall of the oxygen box that are aligned with fastener openings in an exterior bracket positioned behind the panel and behind the oxygen box opening where the fasteners are received by the fastener openings in the exterior bracket and the fasteners removably attach the oxygen box to the exterior bracket.
