An actuator cap () for a fluid spray dispenser comprises a second body part () and a first body part (). The first body part () is adapted for connection to a container for the fluid to be dispensed and incorporates a spray channel arrangement (). The second body part () incorporates an actuator button () and is rotatable with respect to the first body part () from a first position in which the actuator button () is non-elevated into a second position in which the actuator button () is elevated and capable of depression to cause depression of a part () of the spray channel arrangement (). The actuator button () defines a first cam profile () along which a first cam follower () defined by the first body part () travels to cause elevation or retraction of the actuator button () when the second body part () is rotated. The actuator button () also defines a second cam profile () that bears against said part () of the spray channel arrangement () such that when the actuator button () is in its elevated position and depressed the actuator button () depresses the second cam profile () and in turn depresses the part () of the spray channel arrangement () relative to the first body part () to dispense fluid from the container when in use. Preferably, the first and second body parts () are individual, integrally moulded components that are snap-fitted together to assemble the actuator cap ().

Actuator cap for a fluid spray dispenser

The present invention provides a fluid medium dispensing system () for dispensing a fluid medium stored under pressure. The system () comprises a container () for storing the fluid medium under pressure, the container () comprising a neck () defining an opening (). A valve cup () supporting a valve () closes the opening () of the container (). Contiguous portions () of the valve cup () and the neck () are comprised of plastics materials. The plastics materials of these contiguous portions () are fused to form a molten weld seam () by laser welding thereby sealing the container (). Preferably, the plastics material of the neck () of the container () is laser-transparent and the plastics material of the valve cup () is laser-absorbing. Advantageously, the plastics material of the valve cup () is a semi-crystalline polymer. The invention also provides a method of assembling a dispensing system () for a fluid medium. In the method a valve cup () is provided that has at least a peripheral portion thereof that is comprised of a plastics material and that includes a valve (). A container () is provided that is suitable for storing the fluid medium under pressure and that comprises a neck () comprised of a plastics material. The neck () defines an opening () and the valve cup () is positioned at the opening (). The internal volume of the container () is then charged before the valve cup () is pressed into the neck () of the container (). The plastics materials of the valve cup () and the neck () are then fused together to form the molten weld seam (;) by laser welding thereby sealing the container ().

A fluid container in the form of a can having a neck defining an opening, and fastened in a water-tight manner to the neck a valve element with a valve cup supporting a hollow stem movable against an elastic element between a first stable closing position and a second unstable position for delivering fluid through a cavity in the stem, the cavity communicating with the interior of the can in a dispensing position, the can being fixed to a support base of the container, the base comprising a support surface with a recess defined by a first centering surface to center the container on a valve cup of an identical container, on top of which the container may be placed, a second support surface for supporting the container on the valve cup, and a third recessed surface to house the stem of an aerosol valve of the further container.

An aerosol spray capis discussed, which comprises two separate pieces, those of a base memberand a rotatable twist ring. The base memberis formed as a single cast piece for removably attaching to the top of an aerosol canister, and provides an actuator button which is integrated with the fluid passageway. This integrated fluid passageway and actuator buttoninteracts with the fluid out pipe of the aerosol canister, and so allows actuation of the aerosol. The rotatable twist ring, provides a means whereby the movement of the integrated fluid passageway and actuator buttonis prohibited, thereby locking the operation of the aerosol.

A combined fuel cell and combustion tool including a combustion tool configured for receiving a fuel cell; the fuel cell having a housing defining an open end enclosed by a closure; a main valve stem having an outlet, disposed in operational relationship to the open end and reciprocating relative to the housing at least between a closed position wherein the stem is relatively extended, and an open position wherein the stem is relatively retracted; a fuel metering valve located within the housing, associated with the main valve stem, including a fuel metering chamber defined in part by a metering chamber seal and configured so that when the stem is in the open position, only a measured amount of fuel is dispensed through the outlet, the stem having a radially variable exterior contour periodically sealingly engaging the seal such that in the closed position a non-sealing relationship is defined between the stem and the seal, and in the open position a sealing relationship is defined between the stem and the seal; and the housing includes a separate fuel container, and the fuel metering valve includes a valve body that has a second end opposite the fuel metering chamber and located within the container, wherein the flow of fluid out the outlet of the fuel cell is solely from the separate fuel container.

A fuel cell for use with a combustion tool for delivery of a predetermined amount of fuel with each stem actuation is provided and includes a housing defining an open end enclosed by a closure. A main valve stem has an outlet, disposed in operational relationship to the open end and reciprocating relative to the housing at least between a closed position wherein the stem is relatively extended, and an open position wherein the stem is relatively retracted. A fuel metering valve is located within the housing, associated with the main valve stem, including a fuel metering chamber disposed in close proximity to the closure and configured so that when the stem is in the open position, only a measured amount of fuel is dispensed through the outlet. In a preferred embodiment, the fuel cell housing includes a separate fuel container, and the fuel metering valve includes a valve body having a second end opposite the fuel metering chamber located within the container.

In the present invention, an actuating mechanism for a hand held canister is provided in which a slider is moveable by finger pressure from a valve-disengaged position into a valve-engagable position and a concealed spring returns the slider to a valve-disengaged position when finger pressure is removed. The spring is preferably molded with the slider, projects through a slit in the over-cap of the canister and acts in a vertical plane against a stop depending from the over-cap. It is energised when the slider is moved into the valve engagable position. The slider is preferably releasably locked in the valve disengaged position.

Valve (10) for the discharge of fluids which are under pressure, especially liquids, pastes, creams or gels or the like, with a discharge tube which can be moved in a valve body out of a closed position against the action of a resilient member, especially a helical compression spring, to which tube a pot-like closing member (12), working together with a ring seal made of rubber or the like and closely surrounding the discharge tube (11), is allocated. The discharge tube (11) has, on its opposite end from the discharge aperture (13), a surrounding ring projection (14) with axial indentations (15) which can be snapped into a corresponding ring undercut (16) of the pot-like closing member (12).

Valve for the discharge of fluids which are under pressure

A dispensing module for use in the dispensing of pressurized liquids, foams, gels or the like comprises the combination of a dispenser valve (12) and a flexible bag (24) which is bonded thereto. The bag (24) is intended to be located within an outer container (22) by way of an opening (23) in the latter that can be closed with a lid (25). Disposed within the bag (24) is a delivery nozzle (58) that can be connected to the valve body (14) of the dispenser valve (12) through the bag material with the interposition of a sealing ring (32) in such a way that between the interior (52) of the bag and the valve body (14) fluid communication is maintained. The delivery nozzle (58) and/or the valve body (14) is made of a material that is fracture-proof and in particular not permeable to organic media. The portion (34) of the delivery nozzle (58) immediately adjacent to the bag (24) is provided with a surface or a covering (36) of a material, such as polyethylene, polypropylene or polyamide, which can be bonded to the bag material.

Dispensing module

Apparatus for dispensing a semifluid medium, in particular a pasty mass such as cream, gel or the like, comprises a container with a dispensing valve. The dispensing valve comprises a delivery tube that can be displaced, for example into the interior of the container and/or tilted about its long axis, against the action of a resilient means such as a spring. The delivery tube is coupled to an actuator defining an annular channel in such a way that the annular channel is in fluid communication with the delivery tube. The annular channel is closed by an annular closure flap which when opened under the pressure of the medium contained in the container defines an annular gap through which the medium can be discharged.
