Ceramic decoration coloring substances substantially containing a zirconium pigment of the host lattice or inclusion type and a glass flux at a pigment volume concentration (PVC) of at least 30% have an increased color saturation C* if the glass flux comprises at least 71 wt. % PbO. Preferred decoration coloring substances have a PVC in the range from 40 to 70% and a PbO content of 75 to 85 wt. %. The decoration coloring substances are especially suitable for production of decorations, burned at 1000 to 1250&deg;C, with increased color saturation C*.

The resistance of tableware decorations to cutlery scratches can be improved by using a decoration coloring substance whose coloring component is a molecular sieve charged with a metal selected from V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ag, Au, Ru, Rh, Pd, Os, Ir, Pt and/or an ion or a compound of the metal. The coloring component is preferably an aluminosilicate or silicalite charged with Au, Pt, Pd or Cu.

Process for the production of decorated tableware with increased

The resistance of tableware decorations to cutlery abrasion traces can be increased by using, in the production of the decoration, a decoration coloring substance containing a pigment and a glass flux with the characteristics profile according to the invention: the pigment of the decoration coloring substance has an average grain diameter equal to or less than 2 .mu.m, and the glass flux of the decoration coloring substance has a density equal to or less than 2.6 g/cm.sup.3 and a hemisphere temperature less than 930.degree. C.

The invention relates to a ceramic color paste, in particular a color paste containing alkyd resins, for the production of decorations on surfaces of glass, porcelain or ceramic, and a printing medium for the preparation of the color paste. Known generic color pastes and printing media for producing the same generally have an intense odor and tend to form a skin if an alkyd resin is present. The invention overcomes these disadvantages by the solvent system of the printing medium of the color paste containing substantially at least 50 to 100% by weight, preferably above 70% by weight, of one or more isoparaffins and from 0 to 50% by weight, preferably from 0 to 30% by weight, of one or more solvating plasticisers. Skin formation is prevented by the presence of an aldoxime or ketoxime containing 3 to 6 carbon atoms or an anti-oxidant for polymer systems.

Ceramic color paste and printing medium therefor

The invention relates to an improved color paste for the manufacture of internally printed, curved laminated glass panes. Prior art color pastes cause problems with respect to adhesion and optical accuracy or require a higher technical complexity during the baking process for producing internally printed laminated glass panes. Color pastes which constitute the invention and overcome the previous drawbacks are characterized by a print medium which contains 5,6,8-trihydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone in addition to solvents.
