The invention relates to a dispensing device, a storage device and a method for dispensing a medical formulation. Multiple doses of the formulation are stored in a carrier having multiple storage members, each storage member containing a single dose. Each storage member comprises one duct or nozzle for dispensing the respective dose. The dispensing direction of the ducts or nozzles is directed in a lengthwise or indexing direction of the carrier. The storage device of the carrier is a peelable blister strip, wherein the ducts or nozzles can be opened one after the other by peeling the blister strip.

Dispensing device, storage device and method for dispensing a formulation

An active inhaler for delivery of an inhalation formulation has an overall flow resistance of at least 60,000 Pas/mfor ambient air drawn into a mouthpiece of the inhaler. This flow resistance when air and the aerosol are sucked via the mouthpiece is produced by the sizing of at least on air supply opening and/or an insert within the mouthpiece.

A dispensing device, a storage device and a method for dispensing powder in which powder is dispensed through a duct with a flat cross section to de-agglomerate the powder and to generate a spray with fine particle size. A storage chamber for the powder may be closed by a bursting element which is burst by pressurized gas for discharging the powder, the gas pressure reaching or exceeding a peak value before the bursting element bursts so that the powder is dispensed at a lower gas pressure. The powder may be forced through the duct by a gas pressure of less than 300 kPa to de-agglomerate the powder and/or to generate the spray. The storage device can have multiple storage chambers and associated ducts or nozzles, so that each dose of powder can be dispensed through a separate duct or nozzle.

Dispensing device, storage device and method for dispensing powder

A dispensing device, and a method for dispensing powder in which powder is dispensed through a duct with a flat cross section to de-agglomerate the powder and to generate a spray with fine particle size. A simple, compact construction and easy manufacture of a swirl nozzle having a plurality of inlet channels and an outlet channel extending transversely thereto are made possible by the fact that the inlet channels open directly and/or tangentially into the outlet channel. Alternatively or additionally, upstream of the inlet channels is provided a filter structure having smaller flow cross-sections than the inlet channels. The swirl nozzle is used, in particular, for atomizing a liquid medicament formulation. The swirl nozzle is produced from two plate-shaped components, the outlet channel first being etched as a blind bore in one component and then opened up by grinding the component away. Alternatively or additionally, the outlet channel is formed in a different component from the inlet channels.

A medicine dispensation device, in particular a multi-dose powder inhalator, for the dispensing of individual doses of medicine that has a number of medicine chambers contained in a medicine magazine shaped like a continuous loop. The medicine chambers form groups in such a manner that a mouthpiece reaches the different groups by an essentially complete rotation of the medicine magazine. This enables several medicine chambers&#x2014;typically one, two or three&#x2014;to be situated between two successive intake positions, which allows for a high density of medicine chambers and thus creates an inhalation device, which can be handled comfortably even when containing a great number of individual doses.

Medicine dispensation device

The invention relates to a medicament magazine with a plurality of doses of medicament, wherein the magazine is formed from a single foil strip in which pouches () for holding a medicament are formed as depicted in exemplary FIG.. The foil strip comprises for transporting the strip openings () on at least one side for the engagement of transporting pins. The foil strip has a certain width in the region of the pouches, which is less than the width of the foil in other regions, and the openings are arranged in this broader part of the foil strip. The invention also relates to a method and a device for opening a medicament magazine of this kind, the device preferably being constructed as a segmented wheel.

Medicaments magazine, and a device and method for opening it; multi-dose powder inhaler

An inhaler () is proposed (see FIG.), for the inhalation of a formulation () from capsules () that each contain one dose of the formulation. The capsules are preferably each emptied in a capsule chamber () by being set in motion by a stream of air flowing through the capsule chamber. The stream of air can be generated by the inhalation of a user or patient and/or can be generated actively generated by the inhaler. For simple handling, the inhaler has a means for, in particular, automatic filling, emptying and/or cleaning of the capsule chamber, if the latter is used more than once. Alternatively, the inhaler has a large number of capsule chambers that each preferably already contain a capsule and re preferably used just once.

A medicament dispensing device, a medicament magazine thereof, and a method of removing a medicament from the medicament magazine. The inhaler has a mouthpiece () and an air channel () connected thereto, as well as a medicament magazine with at least one medicament chamber containing a powdered medicament. A drive current is produced in the air channel, while a vacuum flow (') can be produced by the drive current and a constriction formed in the air channel. This narrowest part of the air channel that produces the vacuum flow is connected to a removal opening () which communicates with a control opening (), in order to form an emptying current through the control opening via the removal opening. In a preferred embodiment the at least one medicament chamber including the control opening, the removal opening and a fill opening are housing in the one-piece medicament magazine.

Medicament dispensing device, medicament magazine therefor and method of removing a medicament from a medicament chamber

The invention is a medicament magazine having at least one medicament chamber for use in a powder inhaler, wherein the magazine is formed from two foil strips applied to one another and the at least one medicament chamber is formed between the foil strips as depicted in exemplary FIGS.and. The medicament chambers have an internal structure () which comprises in its interior a space for receiving a powdered medicament and stabilizes this inner space against external mechanical influences. In another embodiment in which the internal structure preferably also has a stabilizing function, the structure has means for opening one foil strip. In addition, the medicament chamber contains a retaining device which holds the internal structure on the medicament magazine after the medicament chamber has been opened.
