An injector for transcutaneously introducing a sensor into a patient, including a cannula, a sensor arranged in the cannula, a base element, a sliding element arranged displaceably on the base element in an injection direction, for transcutaneously introducing the cannula having the sensor into the patient in an injection operation. The cannula has a slot in a longitudinal direction of the cannula. The injector has a holding element arranged displaceably on the base element that, in an ejection operation, prevents the sensor from being pulled out as the cannula is withdrawn, by engaging in a distal end region of the sensor through the slot into the cannula. The holding element and/or base element have at least one fixing arrangement to automatically lock the holding element on the base element when the cannula is introduced transcutaneously into the patient. A method for transcutaneously introducing a sensor into a patient is also provided.

Injector for transcutaneously introducing a sensor into a patient

An injector for transcutaneously introducing a sensor into a patient, including a cannula, a base element, a sliding element arranged displaceably on the base element, for transcutaneously introducing the cannula into the patient in an injection direction, and including an ejection element for automatically pulling the cannula out of the patient counter to the injection direction by the ejection element in an ejection operation. The injector has a locking element for the ejection element such that, in a delivery state, the ejection element is lockable in an energy-charged state, and the sliding element and the locking element are configured to interact indirectly or directly in order, in an injection state, when the cannula is introduced transcutaneously into the patient, to release the locking of the ejection element in order automatically to start the ejection operation.

A method and an apparatus for determining at least one smoothed data point (t, s) within a stream of data points {t, s} with 1&#x2264;i&#x2264;z, k&#x3c;z is disclosed. Herein, the stream of data points {t, s} is consecutively acquired in a manner that a data point (t, s) is acquired after an acquisition of a preceding data point (t, s), wherein each data point (t, s) comprises a valid value or an invalid value or a missing value for the signal sat a time t. Herein, the signal sat the time tcomprises physical, chemical, biological, environmental, and/or technical data acquired by means of a technical set-up. According to the method, a set of data points is provided, wherein for each smoothed data point (t, s) a smoothing set is created. For each smoothed data point (t, s), trailing data resulting from large gaps are removed until it is verified whether the smoothing set comprises a minimal number of data points. Thereafter, for each smoothed data point (t, s) an initial slope set is calculated, on which at least one exponential smoothing is applied, in which cause an at least once modified slope set is determined. By integrating the at least once modified slope set, a value for the smoothed data point (t, s) is determined and returned. The method provides a good degree of smoothing without introducing any lag time and with minimal distortions, and is capable of reporting derivatives for the set of smoothed data points at the same time. The method is particularly suited in real-time or nearly real-time measurements which may comprise large gaps within the stream of data points.

Method and apparatus for determining a smoothed data point within a stream of data points

A system for analyzing a patient using a transcutaneous sensor, having a base unit for attaching to the patient, an injector, releasably connectable to the base unit, for the transcutaneous insertion of the sensor into the patient, and a detection unit, releasably connectable to the base unit, for generating measurement data by the sensor. The base unit has a holding device which is configured to cooperate with the injector and detection unit such that, in a detection configuration with the detection unit arranged on the base unit, a contact pressure is applied to the sensor by the holding device for frictional fixing, and in an injection configuration with the injector arranged on the base unit, a lower contact pressure than in the detection configuration is applied to the sensor by the holding device.

System for analyzing a patient using a transcutaneous sensor

The present invention relates to measures for determining glucose and for diagnosing diseases based on impaired glucose metabolism. In particular the present invention relates to a device comprising a hydrogel having a glucose-binding protein and a ligand of the glucose-binding protein incorporated therein, wherein the hydrogel comprises a first hydrogel matrix made of alginate and a second hydrogel matrix which forms an interpenetrating network within the first hydrogel matrix. The invention further relates to the use of such a device for determining the glucose content in a sample and to the use of the device for diagnosing impaired glucose metabolism in a test subject.

The invention relates to a sensor element for detecting at least one analyte in a body fluid or in a body tissue, particularly for determining at least one metabolite concentration in a body fluid. The sensor element comprises an implantable, one-piece shaped body, which comprises a sensor end and a coupling end. The shaped body comprises, in the area of the sensor end, at least one sensor area, which comprises at least one sensor material. The sensor material changes at least one optically measurable property in the presence of the analyte. The shaped body also has at least one optically transparent coupling part, which is designed to transmit electromagnetic radiation in at least one spectral range between the sensor area and the coupling end. In the sensor area, the shaped body has at least one optically transparent matrix material, and the analyte can at least partially diffuse through the matrix material to the sensor material. The sensor material is embedded in the matrix material. The coupling part is formed at least partially by the matrix material.

The present invention relates to measures for determining glucose and for diagnosing diseases based on impaired glucose metabolism. In particular the present invention relates to the use of a polymer-based hydrogel consisting of at least one water-soluble polymer in a sensor for enriching a dissolved glucose-binding protein, wherein the at least one water-soluble polymer is capable of interacting with the glucose-binding protein and wherein the glucose-binding protein is present in a complex with a ligand.
