A modular structure for a mitigating evaporative fuel emissions, such as for an automobile, is described. The structure may include a plurality of frames and membranes for flowing fuel vapor and reducing the emission of hydrocarbon therefrom. The structure may include flow guides that provide a meandering flow path for both the fuel vapor and a permeate. A flow guide providing parallel flow paths is also described.

Membrane module for mitigating evaporative fuel emissions of automobiles

A thermal insulation system for mitigating evaporative fuel emissions of an automobile may include a membrane component and a thermal component connected to the membrane component. The thermal component may be configured for condensing, in the membrane component or in the thermal component, fuel vapor generated from a fuel tank of an automobile.

Thermal insulation of a membrane module for mitigating evaporative fuel emissions of automobiles

This disclosure relates to a separation apparatus for use in a fuel emission control system. The separation apparatus includes a tube being disposed within a conduit of the fuel emission control system and a membrane being disposed within the tube. The tube includes an introduction port for introducing a fuel vapor generated in a fuel tank. The disposition of the membrane increases turbulence of the fuel vapor in the tube and separates the fuel vapor into a fuel-rich mixture and a fuel-lean mixture. The tube further includes a discharge port for discharging the fuel-rich mixture.

Fuel vapor processing apparatus

An improved evaporative emission mitigation system for a motor vehicle includes a canister filled with an adsorbent material connected to a membrane module. The membrane module contains a membrane that separates gaseous hydrocarbons from inert air components within fuel vapor generated by the evaporation of fuel due to the heating of the motor vehicle. The gaseous hydrocarbons separated by the membrane are returned to the canister, where they will again be adsorbed by the adsorbent material. The inert air components are vented from the membrane module into the open atmosphere outside of the motor vehicle.

System for evaporative emissions mitigation

A canister for use in an evaporative emission control system that includes an external housing; a membrane module separating the external housing into an inlet side and an outlet side; an entrance located on the inlet side in fluid communication with a fuel tank, such that a vapor mixture flows into the inlet side; an exit located on the outlet side in fluid communication with an internal combustion engine; a first valve that reversibly connects the inlet side to atmosphere; and optionally, a second valve that reversibly connects the outlet side to atmosphere. The membrane module includes one or more structured membranes having a surface with a plurality of folds, the membrane being shaped as a flat sheet or into a cylindrical geometry. The vapor mixture flows from the entrance along the surface of the membrane, such that gaseous fuel vapor permeates through the membrane to the outlet side.

Membrane structures for the control of fuel vapor emissions

A spiral compressor may include a stationary first spiral member and an orbiting second spiral member intermeshing with the first spiral member. The spiral compressor may include a pendulum slide mechanism that may have an inner ring and a stationary outer ring connected to the inner ring via a plurality of pendulums. The pendulum slide mechanism may include an eccentric member disposed on a radial inside of the inner ring with respect to a central access of the inner ring. The inner ring on an inner circumferential side may be drivingly connected to the eccentric member and on an outer circumferential side may be rigidly connected to the second spiral member. The second spiral member may transmit an orbiting motion in relation to the first spiral member via the pendulum slide mechanism when the eccentric member is driven.

Spiral compressor

A heat transfer device for a motor vehicle may include a pump and a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger may have a first inlet and a first outlet for a refrigerant, and a second inlet and a second outlet for a coolant. The pump and the heat exchanger may be mounted to each other forming a common assembly.

Heat transfer device

An electric fluid pump may include a wet section having a pump wheel and a permanently excited rotor of an electric motor arranged therein. The electric fluid pump may include a dry section having a stator of the electric motor arranged therein. A containment shell may be included configured to separate the wet section from the dry section. The dry section may include control electronics for controlling the fluid pump. The control electronics may connect in a heat-transferring manner to the containment shell and the wet section via the containment shell.

A dual path fresh air system, having a first air supply path, the first path supplies air to at least one first cylinder set; a second air supply path, the second path supplies air to at least on second cylinder set; a first exhaust gas recirculation inlet fluidly connected to the first path to introduce recirculated exhaust gas into the first path; a second exhaust gas recirculation inlet fluidly connected to the second path to introduce recirculated exhaust gas into the second path; a first valve member, which is arranged upstream of the first exhaust gas recirculation inlet in the first path, wherein the first valve member controls fluid flowing through a cross section of the first path; and a second valve member which is arranged upstream of the second exhaust gas recirculation inlet in the second path, for controlling fluid flowing through a cross section of the second path.

The invention relates to an internal combustion engine system (), particularly in a motor vehicle, comprising an internal combustion engine (), a fresh gas system () for supplying fresh gas to the internal combustion engine (), an exhaust gas system () for discharging exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine (), and an exhaust gas recirculation system () for removing exhaust gas from the exhaust gas system () at a removal point () and introducing the removed exhaust gas into the fresh gas system () at an introduction point (). In order to improve exhaust gas recirculation, the exhaust gas system () is equipped with an exhaust gas valve () downstream of the removal point () in order to control the penetrable cross-section of the exhaust gas system ().

Internal combustion engine system

The present invention relates to a control valve () for controlling a gas flow in a gas line () of an internal combustion engine, in particular in a motor vehicle, comprising a rotationally adjustable flap () for controlling a flow cross section (), a throttling sealing gap () which, in a closed position of the flap (), is formed radially between a sealing contour () of the flap () and a sealing face () which faces the flap (), and a drive shaft (), on which the flap () is arranged fixedly in terms of rotation.
