A workpiece is machined using a first cutting tool and subsequent cutting tools in a predefined time sequence. The sequence of cutting tools defines a sequence of previous and subsequent cutting tools, with each previous cutting tool being replaced by a subsequent cutting tool in the course of the machining operations. Each previous cutting tool, which is replaced by a subsequent cutting tool, is deposited at a defined storage place in a tool magazine. When being put back into the tool magazine, the previous cutting tools are distributed to the storage places in a spatial sequence which is different from a spatial sequence at the start of the machining operations and which substantially corresponds to the time sequence.

Method and apparatus for machining workpieces

A machine tool for cutting machining of work pieces has a tool spindle and a work piece spindle. The work piece spindle is a hollow spindle having a through hole extending through the spindle and a holding mechanism for holding a work piece at one end. The work piece held in the holding mechanism can be machined through the through hole by means of a machining tool held in the tool spindle.

The invention relates to a machine tool for introducing bores into a workpiece, said machine tool comprising a machine frame, a drilling tool holder which is arranged on the machine frame and has at least one tool spindle, and a workpiece carrier which is arranged on the machine frame, the boring tool holder and the workpiece carrier being displaceable in relation to each other in a direction of displacement. A longitudinal direction of the at least one tool spindle is oriented transversally in relation to a horizontal plane, and the drilling tool holder is arranged on the machine frame in such a way that it can be pivoted in relation to the workpiece carrier, so that inclined bores can be introduced into the workpiece.

Machine tool

A machine tool for the cutting machining of workpieces, in particular of metallic workpieces, has a first and a second tool spindle for receiving a first and a second machining tool, and it has a first and a second workpiece carrier for receiving a first workpiece and a second workpiece. The first tool spindle is movable relative to the first and to the second workpiece carrier in order to selectively machine the first or the second workpiece. Moreover, the first workpiece are movable relative to one another in order to transfer a workpiece from one workpiece carrier to the other workpiece carrier. The second tool spindle is movable relative to the second workpiece carrier in order to machine the second workpiece.

Machine tool and method for cutting machining of workpieces

In order to provide a multiple spindle machine tool having a machine frame, a first spindle slide with a first workpiece spindle, and a second spindle slide with a second workpiece spindle, wherein first spindle slide and second spindle slide are guided on the machine frame for linear displacement, and a tool receiving device, which is of a simple construction with minimized space requirements with respect to the workpiece spindles, a first guide and a spaced second guide are arranged on the machine frame, both the first spindle slide and the second spindle slide being guided on these guides, and the first workpiece spindle and the second workpiece spindle being arranged between the two guides.
