In a method and system for navigating an endoscopy capsule in a patient, wherein the endoscopy capsule includes a camera, a first image of an object in the interior of the patient is obtained with the camera, in which a re-identifiable structural feature of the object is identified. Successive images of the interior of the patient are then automatically obtained with the camera, and the endoscopy capsule is controlled, for each image, so that the position of the structural feature remains unchanged in the individual images while the image scale is intentionally enlarged or reduced.

In a buffer () to compensate for runtime fluctuations of data packets () transmitted over a transmission line (), in order to be able to set optimally an additional retransmission delay by the buffer () it is proposed to calculate the probable hold time of a data packet () immediately after arrival of a data packet () in the buffer (). The additional retransmission delay by the buffer () is set based on the probable hold time of the data packets () in the buffer (). To guarantee optimum setting of the retransmission delay, both the maximum detected probable hold time and the minimum detected probable hold time of the data packets () are used. This is achieved preferably by means of a minimum value detector and a maximum value detector which detect extreme values of the probable hold time occurring at specific time intervals.

Method and device for compensating for runtime fluctuations of data packets

In order to set the clock frequency of a processor it is proposed that a processor load value be determined, representing a measure for the instructions carried out by the processor during a unit of time, and the clock frequency of a clock signal of the processor be set depending on the processor load value determined. To this end, an appropriately configured device has a clock signal source which provides the clock signal at a clock frequency which can be set depending on a clock frequency control signal. The processor load value is preferably determined by a time counter module which detects lengths of time during which the processor is in an inactive state. A control unit computes the value to which the clock frequency is set depending on a relative proportion of time Tduring which the processor is in the inactive state. An input buffer memory co-operates with a data input of the processor and an output buffer memory co-operates with a data output of the processor, and allowance is preferably made for the degree to which they are full in order to adapt the clock frequency.

To compensate for jitter in the delay of data packets () which are transmitted over a transmission link (), e.g. a data network, the data packets () are buffer-stored in a jitter buffer () and are then played out of the jitter buffer () at preset intervals of time, after an additional play-out delay (&#x394;T). The additional play-out delay (&#x394;T) is set in this case as a function of a magnitude that is determined of the delay jitter, for which purpose differences in delay between successive data packets () are determined and an integrated value of the differences in delay is formed by integration. The additional play-out delay (&#x394;T) is then set on the basis of the integrated value of the differences in delay.

Method and arrangement for compensating for jitter in the delay of data packets

A method for recording a digitized audio signal and a telephone answering machine in which this method can be advantageously employed. A digitized audio signal is written in during a first time segment, and the written-in data are then stored in memory in a storage medium for digital data. After the first time segment, the writing in of the digital input signal is continued. The data now written in are compressed by a predetermined compression algorithm in accordance with a predetermined data compression rate. Finally, the thus-compressed data are stored in the storage medium for digital data. With the method, especially economical utilization of a limited memory storage volume is possible.

A telephone system includes a mobile telephone set having a signal processing unit which is coupled through an amplifier unit to a microphone and at least one speaker. The telephone system also includes a stationary base station for communicating with the mobile telephone set. The signal processing unit has a digital signal processor with an associated memory. A hands-free function is accomplished through the use of the additional signal processor. An echo suppressor or echo compensation function realized by the digital signal processor can be reduced or turned off.

An adaptive balance filter includes a transmission path, a reception path, and an adaptive filter having a signal output, a coefficient output for outputting filter coefficients, an error signal input, and a signal input coupled to the transmission path. There is a main filter which has a signal output, a signal input coupled to the transmission path, and a coefficient input terminal. There is also a first subtractor which has one input coupled to the reception path, another input coupled to the signal output of the main filter, and an output forming a further course of the reception path. A second subtractor has one input coupled to the reception path, another input coupled to the signal output of the adaptive filter, and an output coupled to the error signal input of the adaptive filter. A transfer device is connected between the adaptive filter and the main filter and has a control input for loading the filter coefficients of the adaptive filter into the main filter upon command of a corresponding copy signal. A transfer control device having first, second and third inputs is provided. The transfer control device ascertains echo attenuations of the adaptive filter and the main filter from the first, second and third inputs, comparing two echo attenuations with one another, and sending a corresponding copy signal to the transfer device in the event that the echo attenuation of the adaptive filter is higher than the echo attenuation of the main filter.

In a method and a circuit for automatic speech direction reversal a reception signal with variable damping is furnished to a loudspeaker and a signal with a variable damping from a microphone is provided as the transmission signal. The reception signal and microphone signal are continuously classified as speech signal or noise. The one signal which is classified as a speech signal, is damped at a first damping value and the other signal is damped at a second damping value, which is greater than the first. These settings are maintained until a signal is classified as noise. When both signals are classified as speech signals, the preceding damping values are retained. When both signals are classified as noise, both attenuations are set at a third damping value located between the first and second damping values. A transition from the first or second damping value to the third damping value is performed more slowly than a transition from the third damping value to the first or second damping value or a transition from the first to the second damping value, and vice versa.

Method of automatic speech direction reversal and circuit configuration

In a method and circuit configuration for non-linear linkage of two binary words, a first method step is performed by shifting a first binary word to the right by a number of places associated with the first method step, and adding the unchanged first binary word thereto. N--2 further method steps are performed by shifting an outcome of addition of a preceding method step to the right by one place and by a number of places in respective method steps, and adding the unchanged first binary word thereto. A final method step is performed by shifting the outcome of the addition of the preceding method step to the right by one place and by a number of places associated with the final method step. A second binary word is split into n sub-binary words, and the numbers of places associated with the various method steps each correspond to one sub-binary word.
