An instrument for electrosurgical treatment including an instrument head which forms a conveying body with a gas-fillable lumen. The lumen is connected to at least one first opening and at least one second opening in the instrument head. A primary stream of gas leaves through the first opening. The second opening is arranged such that a secondary stream exits the second opening next to the primary stream and/or with additional secondary streams out of additional second openings—away from the instrument head, at least partially peripherally surrounding the primary stream. An electrode is located in the flow of gas exiting out of the first opening for igniting a plasma between the first opening and the tissue to be treated. Due to the secondary stream accompanying the primary stream, an ignition of the plasma is successful even if the instrument is at a relatively large distance from the tissue.

Instrument with a multistream instrument head for argon plasma coagulation

A preparation instrument comprising an HF-instrument with an electrode that is partially insulated by means of an insulating body, which is combined with a fluid applicator having a channel arranged in the insulating body for the application of a fluid to or into tissue. In some embodiments of the preparation instrument, the electrode is a spatula electrode which is inserted in the insulating body that does not cover sections of the surface of the electrode so that these sections may be in contact with the tissue. The insulating body preferably forms the channel wall that delimits the channel. The insulating body and the electrode may be flexible in order to adapt the form of the insulating body and the electrode, together, to the surgical task.

HF-surgical preparation instrument with fluid channel

An electrosurgical instrument configured for connection to a supply apparatus for operation. The instrument has an end opening at the distal end and supports at least one electrode in the area of the end opening to which an alternating voltage potential can be applied. Directly adjoining the end opening, a liner of the electrosurgical instrument limits a flow chamber inside the liner. With distance to the end opening a flushing channel opens out into the flow chamber via an exit opening and a suction channel opens out into the flow chamber via an inlet opening. A flushing fluid can be introduced in the flow chamber via the flushing channel and can be extracted by suction via the suction channel.

Electrosurgical instrument, electrosurgical device and method for operating an electrosurgical device

The device comprises an endoscope shaft through which extends a working channel ending at an outlet side of the shaft. A guiding element extends through the working channel, said guiding element being preferably guided in longitudinal direction in and along the working channel. The device is set up in such a manner that the distal end section of an instrument extending in longitudinal direction next to the shaft can be moved alongside the shaft beyond the outlet side in order to move the working section of the instrument away from the outlet side so as to lengthen the distal end section of the device. The instrument is coupled to the guiding element in order to guide the working section of the instrument in a transverse direction away from the outlet side in a region opposite the outlet side in order to work in the region with the instrument.

Device with a working channel guiding element

A branch of an instrument comprising a metal part, which is embodied in one piece seamlessly, which comprises the electrode support as well as the electrode plate and connection webs. Preferably, this metal part is produced in an additive production method, for example selective laser melting (SLM). The branches are suitable for instruments for open surgery as well as for laparoscopic and flexible endoscopic instruments.

Surgical instrument comprising electrode support

A cryosurgical instrument includes a feed line for conveying fluid into an expansion chamber. The feed line has a capillary line section that terminates in the expansion chamber and forms an aperture for the fluid to undergo the Joule-Thomson effect. The flow cross-section of the feed line decreases in at least one transition section of the feed line in the form of a funnel. Following each transition section there preferably follows a step section, in which latter section the flow cross-section is preferably largely constant. The last step section is preferably formed by the capillary line section. Due to the acceleration of the fluid in the transition sections and the abating of pressure fluctuations in the capillary tube section and, optionally in the additional step sections, the expansion range in the expansion chamber is increased, without impeding the backflow of the expanded gas out of the expansion chamber.

Cryosurgical instrument

The forceps instrument includes a central pull-push member formed by transmission and actuating elements. The central push-pull member opens and closes the branches, and also acts as a tissue abutment that is variable based on the degree of closure of the branches. The variable tissue abutment may be configured as a slider element and is adjustable proportionally to the opening angle of the branches. When grasped, the vessels are brought proximally. The tissue abutment acts as a spacer between the hinge region and the grasped material. While the branches are being closed, the vessel is held stationary and compressed. During compression, expansion of the vessel occurs axially in distal and proximal directions. Due to the receding of the variable tissue abutment during the closing operation, room is created for the grasped material to escape. Tissue accumulations can thus be restricted and overstressing of the tissue can be counteracted.

Laparoscopic forceps instrument

A tissue fusion instrument having electrodes that are only connected in a punctiform manner to their electrode carrier such that they are electrically conducting and thus, heat-conducting. As a result, heat transfer from the electrode to the respective electrode carrier is restricted. This, on one hand, benefits the desired surgical outcome and, on the other hand, prevents parasitic heating of the surgical instrument and concomitant damage to surrounding tissue.

Tissue fusion instrument, in particular a tissue fusion forceps

The inventive method of manufacturing a cryoprobe uses an assembly pin () for receiving a sleeve () that is to form a part of the head () of the cryoprobe and comprises three abutment surfaces () that are axially offset relative to each other, said abutment surfaces ensuring, following the attachment of the sleeve () and the nozzle () to the tube end (), the correct axial positioning of the nozzle () and the sleeve (), in particular, relative to the distal end surface () of the tube end (). Consequently, the position of the nozzle () in the expansion chamber () that formed after the sleeve () was closed and thus the function of the cryoprobe are ensured.

Cryoprobe and method of manufacturing the same

An instrument () provided for simultaneous coagulation and dissection of tissue has tissue receptacles between the cutting electrode and the sealing electrode for the formation of tissue bulges to secure the tissue in the tool during the sealing process. In order to make it possible to form voluminous tissue bulges and to prevent their atrophy, the cutting electrode is supplied by a current limiting component, preferably in the form of a coupling capacitor. Thereby, in particular, in tissue that can be cut through easily, but which requires a long time for sealing, a high degree of process safety is achieved.

System for simultaneous tissue coagulation and tissue dissection

An instrument for large-area ablation of the mucosa including at least one first gas supply line and at least one second gas supply line whose distal ends are arranged to form an acute angle (&#x3b1;), so that the ends diverge distally. A free space between the distal ends of the gas supply lines allows the user to view the tissue region behind the distal end of the instrument. Due to the acute angle (&#x3b1;), electrodes arranged at least partially in the ends of the gas supply lines generate a wide plasma beam with which the mucosa ablation can be performed. The instrument can be guided precisely due to the view through the free space. A connecting element according to the invention is provided for attaching the ends of the gas supply lines.

Instrument and system for ablation

A tissue fusion instrument having electrodes that are only connected in a punctiform manner to their electrode carrier such that they are electrically conducting and thus, heat-conducting.

A branch is produced by means of an additive 3D production process for producing a metal part, which comprises at least two parts, namely a support section and a functional section. The metal part is a single-pieced part, in which the support section and the functional section are seamlessly interconnected by means of corresponding connecting webs. After the material is applied, the connecting webs are removed.

Method for producing a branch and surgical instrument comprising a tool having a branch

A sealing instrument () including two branches () with sealing jaws () acted on by a sealing voltage preferably between 80 and 120 volts. Tissue receptacles () are separated from one another by a wall-like extension (), which at its lower edge carries a cutting electrode (), are defined between the branches (). A cutting voltage from 300 to 500 volts is applied between a branch () and the cutting electrode. When the branches are closed the grasped tissue is sealed simultaneously between the sealing jaws (and) and is severed by the cutting electrode (). Even though the tissue is severed completely; for example after 0.3 to 0.5 seconds and the sealing requires more time, the rolls of tissue grasped in the tissue receptacles () act as form-fitting protection of the vessel edges in the tool ().
