Various embodiments provide systems and methods for authentication and feature enablement for bring your own device (BYOD) users of a shared conference room. For instance, when a BYOD device connects with a conference room host device, the BYOD device may communicate with a cloud-based management service to get authenticated, and the cloud-based management service may communicate and allowed or disallowed status to the conference room host device. Assuming that the BYOD device receives an allowed status, the conference room host device may then enable data communication, peripheral access, and a set of entitlements for the BYOD device.

The embedded controller collects a battery charge status for the battery, and provides the battery charge status to the processor. The processor also receives data indicating a current battery discharge rate. The processor determines a second battery discharge rate based on operations to be performed during a period of time. The processor also determines a needed battery charge level at a start of the period of time. Based on the battery charge status, the current battery discharge rate, the second battery discharge rate, and the needed battery charge level, the processor sets the information handling system in a state to achieve the battery charge level.

A beamsteering module to receive the angle data from the BT link module, conduct beamsweeping of a plurality of angles for a mm-wave antenna array using the angle data as an initial seed angle for the beamsweeping, determine a selected beamsteering pattern from the information handling system to the BT enabled 5G access point, and to initiate the mm-wave communication with the BT enabled 5G access point based on signal quality.
