Method and tool for fracturing the cement interface between a crown and a tooth or the like. The method is accomplished by positioning a piezoelectric driven rapid impacting tool against one side of a portion of a crown covering the tooth. The tool is covered with a malleable metal and is interfacing abutment with said crown. The opposite side of the crown is abutted against an anvil which is covered with a thicker malleable metal interface.

Method for removing a dental crown and apparatus therefor

A healing abutment embedded in edentulous bone remains in its implantation site in contouring contact with gingival tissue and has an impression coping mounted directly thereon for data transfer of the healing abutment position and shape to a replica of the implantation site on which a restorative prosthesis is formed. The prosthesis is transferred to the actual implantation site after removal of the healing abutment therefore when the gingival tissue has healed.

Prosthetic implant restoration method

An impression coping for transferring the inclination and position of a dental implant fixture or abutment to a working model has a base portion which provides for rotational locking to a fixture head or an abutment and an elongated upper part projecting from the base portion to provide for retention in a surrounding impression mold. The entire impression coping is made of an elastic material so that a clamp fitting is obtained between the base portion and the fixture head or abutment. The base portion comprises a downwardly projecting, unthreaded guide pin adapted for insertion into the internal bore in the fixture head or abutment during installation of the impression coping, thereby facilitating the centering and positioning of the coping during placement.

Impression coping

A bone-embedded implant fixture is interfaced with an aluminum oxide abutment post through which a variety of different arrangements and types of prosthesis superstructures may be supported, including those having separate coping portions surface bonded to the abutment post. An access bore in the abutment post accomodates threaded insertion of a screw fastener carrying a deformable washer to hold the dental implant assembled and seal the gum tissue region into which the abutment post is fitted.
