A structural support system for a vehicle having a longitudinal axis extending from a front of the vehicle to a rear of the vehicle includes a cradle configured to support an engine of the vehicle, a structural side rail assembly having first and second side rails, a first set of six cradle attachments coupling the cradle to the first side rail, and a second set of six cradle attachments coupling the cradle to the second side rail. A predetermined portion of the cradle attachments of both the first and second set of six cradle attachments are designed to intentionally detach during a frontal impact event to facilitate absorbing impact energy and reducing deceleration and passenger compartment intrusion.

A fuel rail retention bracket for a fuel rail assembly having a fuel rail fluidly coupled to a fuel line includes a main body, a first connecting end configured to couple to the fuel rail, and a second connecting end configured to couple to the fuel line. The main body and first and second connecting ends are configured to prevent relative displacement between the fuel line and the fuel rail to maintain the coupling between the fuel rail and the fuel line.

A vehicle rail assembly has an extending longitudinal rail with a kick down area. A kick down area enabler is positioned in the rail at the kick down area. The kick down area enabler includes a foot rest portion, an outer part portion and a kick down portion all contacting the rail. The outer part portion and kick down portion part are cantilevered from the foot rest portion via welding. The kick down area enabler provides additional energy absorption for the rail to prevent intrusion into a passenger compartment.

A vehicle front rail has an elongated body with a first end adapted to couple with a bumper and a second end adapted to couple with a rocker panel. A portion of the body, adjacent the first end, has a cross section with an overall dumbbell shape. It includes a first and second portion separated by a narrow portion. A reinforcement member is positioned in the narrowed portion of the dumbbell cross section.
