Method to prevent data stalls due to blanking in multi-SIM multi-active devices

Various embodiments provide systems and methods for recovering from a stall on a mobile communication device. A mobile communication device may receive a data block from a network through a communications channel, where the data block has a block sequence number. The mobile communication may determine whether the block sequence number of the data block is within a receive window and increment a stall counter when the block sequence number is outside of the receive window. The mobile communication device may perform an abnormal release from the communications channel when the stall counter reaches a threshold.

Systems and methods for recovering from stalls on a mobile device

Access terminals are adapted to receive and transmit data during one or more frames in a multiframe. Power measurements for a neighboring cell can be scheduled during one or more frames not intended for power measurements. In some examples, the one or more frames not intended for power measurements can include an Idle frame and/or a Packet Timing Advance Control Channel (PTCCH) frame in a 52-frame multiframe structure, as well as an Idle frame and/or a Slow Associated Control Channel (SACCH) frame in a 26-frame multiframe structure. Some access terminals may be adapted for facilitating multiple subscriptions, and may operate at least substantially simultaneously in a Connected mode subscription and an Idle mode subscription. In such instances, a neighboring cell for which power measurements are performed may be associated with the Connected mode subscription and/or the Idle mode subscription. Methods and devices for increasing data throughput by scheduling of power measurements in a wireless communications system

Devices, systems, articles of manufacture, and methods scheduling subscription procedures on a wireless communication device are described. According to some embodiments, the wireless communication device communicates with a first subscription. The wireless communication device can perform a concurrent burst-level tune-away procedure with a second subscription. The wireless communication device also returns to communication with the first subscription. The tune-away procedure enables a communication device to interact with multiple subscriptions (e.g., multiple SIM-based subscriptions). Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Optimized scheduling subscription procedures on a wireless communication device

Wireless communications devices are adapted to perform retransmissions of data blocks. A wireless communications device can be adapted to transmit a plurality of data blocks to a receiving device. When the plurality of data blocks are transmitted, the wireless communications device can initiate a block timer associated with a round trip time for communications between the wireless communications device and the receiving device. When, prior to expiration of the block timer, a transmission is received with an indication that at least one data block was not successfully received, the wireless communications device can retransmit the unsuccessful data block. On retransmission, the block timer is restarted. If another transmission is received prior to expiration of the restarted block timer, the wireless communications device can ignore any indication of unsuccessful receipt associated with the retransmitted data block. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Methods and devices for facilitating data retransmissions in wireless communication systems

Apparatus and methods are disclosed to provide for a multi-SIM wireless user equipment configured for block-level, or slot-level tune-away operations enabling simultaneous communication with a plurality of channels. The first and second channels may correspond to different RANs, each of which the user equipment may subscribe to as corresponding to information in a plurality of SIMs at the user equipment. In other examples, the first and second channels may correspond to different cells within a single RAN. In either case, the tune-away operations disclosed provide for reduced data loss at the first channel and in some examples improved communication performance at the second channel. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Apparatus and method for employing a tune-away operation to communicate simultaneously with a plurality of channels

Access terminals are adapted to employing a modulation and coding scheme for a data block in various circumstances. For instance, an access terminal may determine that there is a conflict with at least some transmission timeslots of a radio block on which a data block is to be transmitted. In response to the determined conflict, the access terminal can employ a modulation and coding scheme for the data block. In some instances, the modulation and coding scheme may be changed from a previously selected scheme in response to the conflict. In other instances, the modulation and coding scheme may be initially selected in response to the conflict. With the modulation and coding scheme employed, some of the RF bursts of the data block can be transmitted during transmission timeslots of the radio block that are not conflicted.
