Provided is a composition that may include a fluid formulation that is a water-in-oil emulsion, having an organic phase and an aqueous phase, the aqueous phase dispersed in the organic phase. The organic phase may include an organic solvent, an emulsifier, and a wetting agent. The aqueous phase may include water, a chelating agent, and a base. Further provided is a method that may include introducing the composition into a wellbore as a single stage treatment, maintaining the wellbore by shutting-in the well, and hydraulic fracturing the wellbore.

Treatment fluid recipe for high temperature multi-stage fracturing applications

Methods, systems, and apparatus for analytical wettability assessment of fracturing proppants for improving fluid recovery are disclosed. Embodiments include determining, for a proppant sample, a first value related to an oil-wet index of the proppant sample. Embodiments further include determining, for the proppant sample, a second value related to a water-wet index of the proppant sample. Embodiments further include determining, for the proppant sample based on the first value and the second value, a third value related to a wettability index of the proppant sample. Wettability assessment of fracturing proppants for improving fluid recovery

Provided is a method that may include introducing into a wellbore as a single stage treatment a composition that may include a fluid formulation that is a water-in-oil emulsion having an organic phase and an aqueous phase, the aqueous phase dispersed in the organic phase; maintaining the wellbore by shutting-in the well; and hydraulic fracturing the wellbore. The composition may contain a chelating agent and may interact with an oil-based sludge or filter cake, which may contain barite, at a target zone, allowing the composition to remove a portion of the oil-based mud sludge or filter cake.

Treatment fluid composition for high temperature multi-stage fracturing applications

A method of stimulating a hydrocarbon-bearing formation may include generating a foamed fracturing fluid having a half-life of 160 to 300 min at 77&#xb0; F. The foamed fracturing fluid may comprise a fluorosurfactant, a nanoparticle, and a gas phase. The method may then include introducing the foamed fracturing fluid into a hydrocarbon-bearing formation under a pressure greater than the fracturing pressure of the hydrocarbon-bearing formation to generate fractures in the hydrocarbon-bearing formation. Another method of stimulating a hydrocarbon-bearing formation may include introducing a foaming composition into the hydrocarbon-bearing formation under a pressure greater than fracturing pressure of the hydrocarbon-bearing formation to generate fractures in the hydrocarbon-bearing formation. The foaming composition may include a fluorosurfactant, a nanoparticle, and a gas phase. The method then may include generating a foam from the foaming composition inside the hydrocarbon-bearing formation. The foam may have a half-life of 160 to 300 min at 77&#xb0; F.

A drill bit for drilling a subterranean formation. The drill bit includes a drill bit body, at least one cutting element disposed on the drill bit body, and an optical sensor disposed on the drill bit body and configured to generate an environmental parameter measurement while drilling the subterranean formation. The optical sensor includes a fiber bragg grating embedded in an optical fiber that passes through a first channel in the drill bit body and a second channel in the drill string to couple to a surface logging station for analyzing the environmental parameter measurement, where the environmental parameter measurement represents at least a downhole chemical composition measured by the fiber bragg grating, and an analysis result of the surface logging station is presented to a user to facilitate a drilling operation.

Systems, methods, and apparatus for a three-dimensional (3D)-printed vessel for wettability assessment of fracturing proppants are disclosed. The vessel includes a base component including a threaded cylindrical portion extending outward from a first side of the base component. The cylindrical portion has a particular thread profile. The base component defines a cavity sized to contain a proppant sample. A cap is configured to be screwed onto the threaded cylindrical portion after the proppant sample is injected into the cavity. A surface of the cap is shaped to flatten a proppant surface of the proppant sample. The cap is threaded with the particular thread profile. A pin is configured to be partially screwed onto a second side of the base component before the proppant sample is injected into the cavity. The second side is opposite to the first side. Three-dimensional-printed vessel for wettability assessment of fracturing proppants

Disclosed is a filter cake removal composition, and method of use thereof, for use in a wellbore for controlled removal of a filter cake present in a target production zone. The filter cake removal composition includes hydrochloric acid and an organic acid. The filter cake removal composition, when a mixture of the hydrochloric acid and the organic acid is applied to the filter cake in the target production zone, is operable to dissolve the filter cake in the target production zone over an extended reaction time. The mixture includes the hydrochloric acid present in an amount of between about 0.1% and 5% by weight and the organic acid present in an amount of between about 0.1% and 10% by weight.
