A method for transmitting successive messages forming a frame in a telecommunication system with M sources (s, . . . , s), L relays and a destination, M&#x3e;1, L&#x2265;1 according to an orthogonal multiple-access scheme of the channel between the M sources and the L relays with a maximum number of M+Ttime slots per transmitted frame including M slots and Tcooperative transmission slots. The method includes: a slow type link adaptation determining an initial rate for each source by destination based on an average SNR of each link and transmitting to each source the initial rate; and for each frame out of several, successively transmitting the messages of the M sources during the M slots phase with, respectively, modulation and coding schemes determined from the initial rates. The link adaptation maximizes the aggregate rate of all the sources subject to the constraint of a target average BLER &#x3b5;after T&#x2265;X&#x2265;1 cooperative transmissions.

OMAMRC transmission method and system with slow link adaptation

A method for relaying messages via a half-duplex relay for a telecommunications system with M sources, L relays and a destination, where M&#x3e;1, L&#x2265;1, according to an orthogonal multiple access scheme of the transmission channel between the L relays and the destination. The method includes: decoding, via a relay, M messages each being associated with a frame and coming from a source among the M sources with detection of errors on the messages; transmitting from the relay to the destination a signal representative of a least one portion of a set of the messages for which no errors have been detected by the relay conditional on authorization from the destination, transmitting from the relay to the destination of a monitoring signal indicating a set of messages for which no errors have been detected by this relay, this transmission of the monitoring signal occurring before the transmission of the representative signal.

Relaying method and device and destination with feedback in an OMAMRC system

A full-duplex relay and method of a telecommunication system having several sources, at least the relay and a recipient. The relay includes: a decoder estimating a message for each source, from successive received blocks transmitted during a current interval by a source, a decision module deciding which source messages were decoded without error from the estimated messages, a network encoder encoding a selection of the messages decoded without error and a transmitter transmitting a signal representative of the network encoded messages to the destination and a control signal indicating the selected messages. The decision module selects messages decoded without error at the input of the network encoder by only considering a return path from the destination indicating correct or incorrect decoding of messages. After each reception of a block, the decision module prevents the emission by the transmitter for a time period necessary to receive and decode the return path.

Dynamic and selective FD-DSDF transmission of a digital signal for a MARC/MAMRC system with full-duplex relay and a limited feedback

A relaying method in a telecommunication system having a plurality of sources, a half-duplex relay and a recipient. The relay performs a receiving phase of: receiving codewords transmitted by the sources, including estimating for each source a message associated with the codewords transmitted by the source, error detection and decision of error-free decoded messages, which determine the set of sources decoded without error by the relay; a phase of coding and transmitting to the recipient a signal uniquely representative of the selection of messages, such that, after each reception of a block from different sources, the relay receives and decodes a return path from the destination indicating if no or at least one message is decoded without error, these messages determining the set of sources decoded without error. The relay switches from the receiving phase to the coding and transmission phase once a logic rule is valid.

Method for transmitting a digital signal for a system having at least one dynamic half-duplex relay with selective logic, corresponding program product and relay device

A method and relay for relaying messages. The relay includes tests reliability relating solely to messages estimated with error and taken in their form prior to error detection in order to be able to separate messages that are reliable and messages that are not reliable. The relay also includes a shaper unit having a channel interleaver and a modulator taking account only of the messages estimated without error and of those messages estimated with error that are reliable, this shaping being performed in soft form if at least one message estimated with error successfully passes the reliability test.

Method and device for flexible, selective SSDF relaying

A relay for a telecommunications system comprises a decoder which responds to received blocks corresponding to successive code words xtransmitted simultaneously by sources during T time slots. At each slot t, t=1, . . . , T, a code word xcomprises B blocks x, x, . . . , x. The first can be decoded independently of the other blocks, to estimate for each source code words x. It also comprises a detector which detects messages that have been decoded without error and takes a decision and an encoder and transmitter which encodes a signal and transmits it to the destination, which signal is representative only of messages that have been decoded without error. When estimating, the decoder takes account of a signal transmitted by another relay representative of messages from the sources that were decoded without error by that relay. The encoder and transmitter is under the control of the detector in accordance with a selection scheme, after each received block.

A relaying method performed by a half-duplex relay for a telecommunications system includes a reception stage of receiving codewords from sources during N uses of the transmission channel. The successive codewords correspond to B blocks, the first of which can be decoded independently of the other blocks. This stage includes a decoding step of estimating a message from each source based on received codewords. The relay performs an error detection and decision-taking step on messages decoded without error. The relay performs a stage of encoding a signal and forwarding it to a destination. The signal is representative of only messages decoded without error and includes channel encoding by an incremental redundancy code to obtain a channel encoded codeword. The relay passes from non-selective reception to selective reception after receiving Bblocks and switches from the reception stage to the encoding and forwarding stage under control of the decision step.

The relay comprises a decoder which estimates for each source a code word xencoding a K-bit message u, from received blocks corresponding to successive code words xtransmitted simultaneously by the sources during T time slots, such that at each time slot t, t=1, . . . , T, a code word xcomprises B blocks x, x, . . . , xof which the first can be decoded independently of the other blocks. It also comprises a decision component which enables the relay to detect messages that have been decoded without error and to take a decision and an encoder and transmitter which encode a signal and transmit it to the destination, which signal is representative only of messages that have been decoded without error. After each received block, the encoding and transmission unit is under the control of the decision component.
