A composition, which comprises a) an organic material susceptible to oxidative, thermal or light-induced degradation; and b) a compound of formula I (Formula I) (I) where R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, Rand Rare independently from each other H, C-C-alkyl, C-C-cycloalkyl, phenyl, C-C-alkoxy or halogen; n is 1, 2, 3, or 4; and when n is 1 A is &#x2014;C(=0)-OR', &#x2014;C(=0)-N(R)(R&#x2032;), &#x2014;CN, phenyl, which is unsubstituted or substituted by one or more C-C-alkyl, C-C-alkoxy, C-C-cycloalkyl or halogen, &#x2014;H or &#x2014;S0-phenyl; when n is 2 A is &#x2014;C(=0)-0-Z&#x2014;O&#x2014;C(=0)-, &#x2014;C(=0)-N(R&#x2033;)&#x2014;Z&#x2014;N(R&#x2033;)&#x2014;C(=0)- or piperazine-N,N&#x2032;-biscarbonyl.

5H-furan-2-one derivatives for stabilization of organic material

The present invention pertains to a reversibly thermochromic system comprising a substituted or an unsubstituted 6,11-dihydroxy-naphthacene-5,12-dione and a base and to a reversibly thermochromic composition comprising the reversibly thermochromic system and a carrier material and to novel substituted 6,11-dihydroxy-naphthacene-5,12-diones.

Reversibly thermochromic compositions

The present invention relates to a novel process for the preparation of specific sterically hindered nitroxyl ethers from their corresponding sterically hindered nitroxyl radicals by reacting it with an aldehyde and a hydroperoxide. This nitroxyl ether formation may be carried out from different starting nitroxyl radicals, which are subsequently further reacted to the desired compounds. The compounds prepared by this process are effective as stabilizers for polymers against harmful effects of light, oxygen and/or heat and as flame-retardants for polymers.

Process for the preparation of sterically hindered nitroxyl ethers

The present invention relates to a novel process for the preparation of a sterically hindered nitroxyl ether from the corresponding sterically hindered nitroxyl radical by reacting it with a carbonyl compound and a hydroperoxide. The compounds prepared by this process are effective stabilizers for polymers against harmful effects of light, oxygen and/or heat, as flame-retardants for polymers and as polymerization regulators.

A reversible thermochromic system comprising a) a compound of the formula (I) or a tautomer thereof (I) wherein Ris C-Calkyl, C-Calkenyl, C-Ccycloalkyl, C-Ccycloalkyl substituted by 1, 2 or 3 C-Calkyl; or C-Cphenylalkyl; Rand Rare hydrogen or Rand Rtogether form a group &#x2014;CH&#x2550;CH&#x2014;CH&#x2550;CH&#x2014;; and Ris hydrogen, &#x2014;NO, &#x2014;SO&#x2014;Ror (4-nitrophenyl)azo; and b) a compound containing a group of the formula (II).
