In a plug-in operation, a first winding which functions as an armature winding for supplying an R-phase current of a three-phase rotary electric machine, a third winding, and a second winding are connected respectively to terminals for supplying R-phase, S-phase, and T-phase currents of a three-phase power source. Thus, the S-phase current and the T-phase current are interchanged as compared with in a normal operation. Thereby, reverse rotation of a field element is intentionally caused. A reverse-rotation prevention mechanism is provided in the field element.

Hybrid electric-power supplying system

Switches perform switching at a timing when a first phase voltage and a second phase voltage outputted from a three-phase voltage source have a phase difference of 90&#xb0;. Then, a three-phase/two-phase conversion inductor outputs a pair of AC currents, and a rectification and a single-phase pulse-width modulation are performed on each of AC currents. Modulated currents obtained as a result of the rectification and the single-phase pulse-width modulation are synthesized, to generate an output current, which is supplied to a circuit in which a capacitor and a load are connected in parallel with each other.

Rectifier circuit

A motor control unit () includes: a power converter () having a rectifier circuit () which rectifies an AC voltage from an AC power supply (), a capacitor circuit () which receives an output of the rectifier circuit () and outputs a rectified voltage having pulses from both ends of a capacitor () and an inverter circuit () which receives the rectified voltage and outputs an AC voltage to the motor (); and a motor controller () controlling the motor () by controlling the inverter circuit (). The motor controller () performs torque control to vary an output toque of the motor () in response to variation in load torque of the motor ().

Motor control unit

A power conversion device includes input terminals, first output terminals, second output terminals, and an insulation transformer. The insulation transformer includes a primary coil and a secondary coil of equal inductance. The polarity of one end of the primary coil is same as the polarity of the other end of the secondary coil. One of the first output terminals is connected to an input terminal and the one end of the primary coil. The other of the first output terminals is connected to an input terminal and one end of the secondary coil. One of the second output terminals is connected to the other end of the primary coil and the other end of the secondary coil. The other of the second output terminals is connected to an input terminal.

Power conversion device and power conversion system

In the case where a chip is made of wide band gap semiconductor, a power conversion apparatus is obtained in which a component having a low heat resistant temperature is prevented from receiving thermal damage by heat generated at the chip. In a configuration including: a chip portion () including a chip () made of wide band gap semiconductor and a member () having a heat resistant temperature equal to or higher than that of the chip (); and a peripheral component () arranged in the vicinity of the chip portion () and having a heat resistant temperature lower than that of the chip (). The chip () and the peripheral component () are thermally insulated from each other so that the temperature of the peripheral component () does not exceed the heat resistant temperature of the peripheral component ().

Power conversion apparatus

A substrate includes a plurality of input ends, a plurality of output ends, first and second direct-current power lines, a first region and a second region. An alternating voltage is applied between any two of the input ends. The first region permits mounting of any one of a plurality of kinds of first surface-mount devices that selectively establishes electrical continuity between one of said plurality of input ends and either said first or said second direct-current power line. The second region permits mounting of a second surface-mount device that selectively establishes electrical continuity between one of said plurality of output ends and said first or said second direct-current power line.

Substrate for AC/AC multiple-phase power converter

An arrangement is provided a converter, an inverter, a smoothing condenser connected between the converter and the inverter, and reactors each connected between the connection point of each pair of IGBT switches of the converter and the output terminal of each phase of the AC power source. The converter has three pairs of IGBT switches for three phases that are serially connected to one another and connected in parallel to one another. First diodes are each connected in reversed polarity and in parallel to each IGBT switch. The inverter has three pairs of IGBT switches that are serially connected to one another and connected in parallel to one another. Each diode is connected in reversed polarity and in parallel to each IGBT switch.
