Systems, methods and devices are implemented for microscope imaging solutions. One embodiment of the present disclosure is directed toward an epifluorescence microscope. The microscope includes an image capture circuit including an array of optical sensor. An optical arrangement is configured to direct excitation light of less than about 1 mW to a target object in a field of view of that is at least 0.5 mmand to direct epi-fluorescence emission caused by the excitation light to the array of optical sensors. The optical arrangement and array of optical sensors are each sufficiently close to the target object to provide at least 2.5 μm resolution for an image of the field of view.

Microscopy imaging device with advanced imaging properties

A method and a system for managing power resources. One or more measurements received from one or more sensors communicatively coupled to at least one processor are processed. The sensors monitor and measure at least one of: one or more operational parameters associated with operation of at least one equipment, one or more external parameters associated with an environment of the equipment, and one or more power parameters associated with a power consumption by the equipment. Based on the processed one or more measurements, one or more future operational parameters associated with an operation of the are determined. Systems and methods for coordinating distributed energy storage in accordance with embodiments of the invention are illustrated. One embodiment includes a power distribution network, including a set of nodes, wherein a node includes a controllable load, an uncontrollable load, and a local controller, a substation connected to each node in the set of nodes by a set of distribution lines, and a global controller including a processor, a memory, and a communications device, wherein the global controller obtains load parameters from at least one node, calculates coordination parameters for each node based on the obtained load parameters, and asynchronously provides the coordination parameters to each of the nodes in the set of nodes, and wherein each node independently obtains coordination parameters, and controls the operation of its controllable load using the local controller based on the coordination parameters and a local load profile describing at least the uncontrollable load.

Systems and methods for coordinating distributed energy storage

A CMOS image sensor includes a plurality of pixel elements arranged in a two-dimensional array, analog signal multiplexers, over-sampling A/D converters and an activation code generator. The sensor is configured to construct an image by using less number of A/D conversions, thereby reducing the power consumption of the sensor. The activation code generator generates a bit stream of random binary sequences which determine which A/D converter is activated. The image sensor offers digitally compressed data, the number of which is significantly less than the total number of pixels. Further, the image sensor not only reduces the power consumption of the A/D converters (by reducing the number of A/D conversions) but also reduces the I/O power consumption. An original image focused on the sensor is recovered from the compressed data by using principles of compressed sensing.

Image sensor and imaging method with single shot compressed sensing

The dynamic range and the noise immunity of a digital imaging system are increased by basing an estimate of the illumination on a sensor on a series of measurements of the accumulated illumination at intervals within an exposure period. The measuring may occur destructively, or alternatively the photocurrent of the sensor may continue to accumulate over the exposure period. The estimate may use statistical signal processing of the measurements, based on various noise models and various optimization criteria. The estimate may be computed recursively over the multiplicity of measurements, using a set of recursive values that may include but is not limited to the estimated illumination, a current weighting coefficient, a variance of the current measurement and a variance over the series of measurements.

Photocurrent estimation from multiple captures for simultaneous SNR and dynamic range improvement in CMOS image sensors

A method for forming an application specific integrated circuit, comprises receiving a circuit design for the application specific integrated circuit from a designer; performing an initial place and route layout of the circuit design which leaves a group of buffer modules unused, based upon a partially predesigned integrated circuit, in which the partially predesigned integrated circuit includes a plurality of logic modules and a plurality of buffer modules uniformly distributed amongst the logic modules; evaluating load and timing characteristics for the initial place and route layout of the circuit design; and integrating buffer modules from the group of unused buffer modules into the circuit design, based on the load and timing characteristics evaluated. A gate array, for forming the application specific integrated circuit in accordance with the invention includes a matrix of function blocks capable of being configured to implement combinational, sequential, and memory modes of operation, as well as providing tri-state drivers and buffers in useful numbers.

A CMOS DPS image sensor architecture for improving SNR and dynamic range is presented. The CMOS DPS architecture includes self-reset digital pixels capable of collecting more charge than the physical well capacity. A method for improving SNR without reducing dynamic range in a CMOS video sensor system under low illumination is described, wherein the CMOS video sensor system employing self-reset DPS architecture includes pixel level A/D conversion and wherein each DPS pixels is capable of resetting itself whenever a corresponding diode reaches saturation during integration time.
