A calibration device for mass flow meters including a test piece measuring section into which the mass flow meter test piece to be calibrated can be inserted, a device for creating a flow of a medium through the test piece measuring section and a temperature-measuring device positioned in the test piece measuring section for detecting the temperature of the medium. The temperature-measuring device is position in the flow such that the flow is disturbed as little as possible, while at the same time being capable of highly-accurate detection of the temperature of the flowing medium. In particular, the temperature-measuring device is an ultrasonic temperature-measuring device that is configured to emit an ultrasonic signal into the medium and determine the temperature of the medium by measuring a speed of the emitted ultrasonic signal.

Calibration device for mass flow meters

An ultrasonic probe head, in particular for an ultrasonic flow meter having a housing and an ultrasonic transducer in the housing, wherein ultrasonic signals can be created and/or detected by the ultrasonic transducer and the ultrasonic signals from the ultrasonic transducer can be emitted and/or received via an ultrasonic window. A thin, relatively flexible solid interface layer is provided between the ultrasonic transducer and the ultrasonic window, the surface of the ultrasonic window having contact with the solid interface layer has a specified roughness and the ultrasonic transducer is impacted with a force, wherein the material of the solid interface layer and the ultrasonic window, the specified roughness of the surface of the ultrasonic window and the force are attuned to one another so that the solid interface layer nestles into the ultrasonic window of the housing at least also by plastic deformation. Thus, a passage is created between the ultrasonic transducer and the ultrasonic window that eliminates, at least partially, the known disadvantages between the ultrasonic transducer and the ultrasonic window.

Ultrasonic probe head

A device and a method for its manufacture, for magnetic-inductive measurement of the quantity of mixture flowing through a pipeline into which the device has been incorporated. The device includes a housing having a measuring tube with an electrically insulating lining therein. The lining substantially consists of wear-resistant, insulating ceramic material in the form of tiles applied on a layer of plastic material having a thickness between 3 and 10 mm. The joints between the tiles are filled with plastic material. The housing contains magnetic coils. A pair of electrodes are mounted in the measuring tube and extend through the wall of the measuring tube and are insulated in relation to it. Within the housing, the electrodes are connected to lines leading to measuring members for measuring the voltage difference generated in the flowing medium by the magnetic field of the magnetic coils.

Device for magnetic-inductive measurement of the quantity of mixture

A process for determining the phase portion of a medium in open and closed pipes, especially for use in connection with a process for determining the volume flow, with the help of at least three condenser plates extending basically over the entire height of the pipe and with the help of a control and evaluation circuit, in which at least one of the condenser plates has an alternating voltage applied to it by the control and evaluation circuit and the current flowing between the condenser plate with the voltage appled to it and at least one other condenser plate is recorded by the control and evaluation circuit. The process is designed so that the current between at least two condenser plates is recorded by the control and evaluation circuit from two different groups of condenser plates separated by the vertical line of the pipe. The current between individual condenser plates in the first group of condenser plates and at least one condenser plate in the second group of condenser plates is recorded by the control and evaluation circuit in sequence; the current of the highest plate reached by the surface level of the medium in the first group of condenser plates is standardized by the control and evaluation circuit using the currents of the lower-lying condenser plates in the first group of condenser plates; and the standardized current from the highest condenser plate reached by the surface level of the medium in the first group of condenser plates is evaluated as a measurement for the position of the surface level of the medium relative to the highest condenser plate reached by the surface level of the medium in the first group of condenser plates.
