A method of testing a fuel injection system or components thereof includes running a high pressure fuel pump to provide fluid under pressure to the fuel injection system or components. The pump flow is controlled via an inlet metering valve by controlling current or voltage supplied to the inlet metering valve dependent on the power to the fuel pump.

Method of testing fuel injection equipment

A driveshaft assembly, for example in an Electronic Unit Injector, Unit Injector or Electronic Unit Pump testing machine, wherein an indexing arrangement, such as complementary external and internal splines, enables a cam to be mounted on a shaft at a number of discreet positions, each providing a different offset of a central axis of the base cylinder section from a central axis of the shaft, each position providing a different maximum lift value of a plunger in contact with the cam, directly or via a rocker arm.

Driveshaft assembly with indexing means

A positive linear displacement flow rate meter includes a first chamber for receiving a substance such as diesel from a fuel injector and applying a substance force to one end of a piston, wherein an opposing force is applied, such as by air pressure, in a second chamber, to the other piston end, and a comparator, for indicating to a control unit to discard invalid piston displacement measurements, until the substance force is substantially equal to the opposing force, allowing accurate flow rate measurement independent of variation in conditions between uses of the meter.

Flow meter

Metering apparatus including wall portions which define an elongate generally upright cavity of substantially uniform cross-section and an inlet to the cavity to enable fluid which is to be metered to be fed into the cavity. The apparatus further includes a pressure transducer in communication with fluid in the cavity when the apparatus is in use, to provide a signal indicative of the amount of fluid in the cavity above the transducer.
