A fastening device configured for an easy removable attachment to fabric that is employable with one hand to form a compressive engagement with a mounting point on fabric that is easy to use and non-damaging to fabric. The device can be easily operated by users with limited hand or finger dexterity or only having a single useable hand. The engagement provides a compressive gripping engagement means which is easily positioned to a mounting position on fabric which can be sighted through a gap in a central area of the body of the device. The enhanced gripping means are provided by a toothed gripping means or a friction enhancing means.

Flexible fastener for removable attachment to fabric

A multipurpose skateboard tool comprising two separable substantially flat elongated members and a separable chain. The first substantially flat elongated member comprises a socket within one end, a wrench within the opposite end, and a keyway and at least one through hole within the middle portion. The second substantially flat elongated member comprises a wrench within one end, a screwdriver bit on the opposite end, and a rivet and at least one through hole within the middle portion. The two substantially flat elongated members may interlock together via the keyway and rivet mechanism for compact and flat storage. When interlocked, the chain may be inserted through adjacent through holes to prevent separation of the two substantially flat elongated members.

A sawing apparatus comprises a base structure including bed rolls defining a horizontal bed plane for supporting a workpiece, a saw arbor carrying at least one saw for rotation about the central axis of the saw arbor, and a carriage supporting the saw arbor so that its central axis extends horizontally above the bed plane. A drive mechanism selectively raises and lowers the carriage relative to the base structure.

Sawing apparatus

A synchronized filter mechanism is intended for a use with a camera, which has a flash synchronizer, and plural stroboscopic light sources. The filter mechanism includes a filter holder, which holds plural filters in optical alignment with the camera, a subject and the light sources. The filters may be selected to have differing optical properties. A drive mechanism is provided for driving the filter holder. A control circuit is provided for controlling the drive motor and for triggering the light sources at predetermined times relative the optical alignment of the camera, the filters and the light sources.

Synchronized filter device

A light projector includes a light source, which provides a light stream, an elongate light wand, including an elongate transparent rod therein, for converting the light stream into an elongate light beam. An optical connector is provided for connecting the light wand to the light source.

In an automatic sawmill, logs are first sawn horizontally into pieces that are respectively deposited flat side down on a bed plate and conveyed through multiple, close spaced horizontal bandsaws located above the bed plate. Sawn cants are positioned by clamps to have their waney edges removed by a flying saw after clamp retraction.

Method and apparatus for an automatic sawmill

A photographic exposure control apparatus includes a directable light source, and an auxiliary shutter which is located between a camera lens and a subject. The auxiliary shutter includes a housing structure which has a window therein. The window is selectively opened and closed by a blade which is movably mounted on the housing structure, which is motor driven, and which allows the housing structure to block entry of light into a camera lens when the window is closed, and to allow light into the lens when the window is open. A filter holder is mounted on the housing and is selectively remotely insertable between the lens and a subject.

Photographic exposure control apparatus having remote filter holder

A photographic exposure control apparatus includes a directable light source, and an auxiliary shutter which is located between a camera lens and a subject. The auxiliary shutter includes a housing structure which has a window therein. The window is selectively opened and closed by a blade which is movably mounted on the housing structure, which is motor driven, and which allows the housing structure to block entry of light into a camera lens when the window is closed, and to allow light into the lens when the window is open. The method of the invention includes the steps of positioning a subject and a film-containing camera so that the subject is in the view of the camera, underexposing an image of the subject on the film, positioning an auxiliary shutter between the subject and the camera, with the auxiliary shutter in a closed condition, darkening the environment containing the subject and the camera, providing an emitted light beam which may be directed towards the subject using a light source and a fiber-optic cable which has an auxiliary shutter control button located thereon, directing the emitted light beam at the subject, opening the auxiliary shutter for a predetermined time interval with the emitted light beam directed at a particular portion of the subject, and closing the auxiliary shutter with the auxiliary-shutter control button at the end of a predetermined time interval.

Photographic exposure control apparatus and method

A sawmill apparatus includes first and second carriages for supporting first and second logging dogs therebeneath, with the second carriage being movable upon the first whereby to engage the ends of a log between the dogs. The carriages support the dogs at the end of steel baldes which are moved in a vertical direction by a combination of air cylinders and ball screws to provide the desired positioning of the log in a vertical direction. As the carriages urge the log between the blades of a bandsaw, rubber tired wheels are raised against the underside of the log for supporting cants or boards sawn therefrom and preventing splitting at the finally sawn edge.

A sawmill apparatus includes first and second carriages for supporting first and second logging dogs therebeneath, with the second carriage being movable upon the first whereby to engage the ends of a log between the dogs. The carriages support the dogs at the end of steel blades which are moved in a vertical direction by a combination of air cylinders and ball screws to provide accurate positioning of the log at a predetermined distance above a lower saw guide and at a predetermined distance above an outfeed conveyor. Side braces are mounted on each carriage and extend downwardly on each side of the blades carrying the log engaging dogs, the side braces supporting bearing members disposed in slidable relation to the blades for maintaining alignment thereof in the direction of carriage movement.

Sawmill apparatus with vertically movable logging dogs

A cant or plank is moved forwardly on a conveyor system, where its irregular leading lateral edge is measured by a plurality of fixed scanners. In response to measurement of the cant, conveyor movement is altered for orienting the cant relative to a fixed saw line to be executed by a movable saw. The cant is held or clamped in stationary position while the saw is moved on a carriage relative thereto, resulting in severing of the undesired irregular forward edge. The sawn edge is employed as a reference as the cant is then moved forwardly on a conveyor system, where the measurements obtained from the scanners may be further utilized in cutting the cant into desired widths.

Automatic sawmill apparatus

A board separator apparatus for separating boards from groups of boards is described. The separator apparatus includes an input conveyor for feeding the groups of boards in a vertical position longitudinally into a transfer box, which is pivoted to transfer the boards onto an elevator member in the separation means. The elevator member lowers each group of boards into a separation position where they are held by a pressure plate against separator arms. The separator arms are moved outward into three different separator positions, thereby selectively causing three boards in a group to be moved one at a time off of the elevator into a separated condition. The separated boards slide down a ramp from the elevator member onto an output conveyor which transports the boards laterally away from the separator in a horizontal position. The boards are fed onto the output conveyor with the wane side of the boards facing up when such boards are cants cut from the side of a round log. These cants are thereby separated and oriented in position to be fed into a resaw section which detects and removes the wane portions of such cants.
