Eyewear is disclosed that can have multiple ventilation states providing different amounts of ventilation through the eyewear. The eyewear can include a lens and a frame. In some embodiments, the lens can be movable with respect to the frame to provide the multiple ventilation states. In some embodiments, the eyewear can include a gasket that removably attaches to the frame. In some embodiments, the gasket can be movable with respect to the frame to provide the multiple ventilation states.

Devices, systems, and methods, etc., that provide, in certain aspects, a two-point, adjustable, partially pliable, and releasable tensioning suspension that supports an anti-blunt-force frame connected to a protective helmet. The protective devices herein can be, for example, 'sport-level' and 'military/law enforcement-level.' The anti-blunt-force frame is positioned and balanced on the wearer's face by an impact absorbing face padding system, including a chin strap, cup or pad comprised of an impact protection material. Thus, in one aspect, the present devices, systems, methods, etc., include an adjustable facial protection system for a human comprising a crescent-shaped face protection element configured to withstand blunt force impact and a ballistic material element to prevent the penetration of ballistic and fragmentation projectiles at various force levels to meet different ballistic hazards. The systems can also include a protective helmet.

Adjustable facial protection systems

An eyeglass is provided that can comprise a frame, a lens, and at least one retention component that can secure the lens relative to the frame. The frame can be configured to support at least one lens in a field of view of a wearer. The frame can include a first ear stem and a second ear stem that allows the frame to be worn on the wearer's head. The at least one retention component can be supported by the frame and/or the lens and can be movable or fixed relative to the frame and/or the lens. The retention component can engage an engagement portion of the frame and/or the lens for preventing the lens from separating from the frame in response to a ballistic event.

An adjustable length sport pole and coupling mechanism is shown and described. In one embodiment, the sport pole has a first pole assembly having a first pole and a sleeve, a second pole slidably received within the first pole assembly and a locking assembly. The second pole may have an outer surface with detents at defined locations along the pole axis. The locking assembly has a resilient locking element configured to contact and extend around an exterior portion of the second pole, and a collar movably coupled to the first pole assembly to move between a lock position and a release position. The resilient locking element extends around the second pole, and the locking element is configured so that it expands when it is attached to the second pole. The resilient locking element accordingly presses against the second pole. The collar has a retaining surface that aligns with the locking element in the lock position to hold the locking element in one of the detents to prevent axial movement between the first and second poles. The collar also has a recessed surface that aligns with the locking element in the release position to allow the locking element to disengage from the detent for permitting axial movement between the first and second poles.

A fly fishing reel comprises a large diameter spool having a broad width and a shallow line storage depth. The reel may have an arm-like body and a unique mounting member which, when attached to a fishing rod, positions the perimeter of the spool across a longitudinal axis of the rod. In an additional aspect, a drag mechanism is provided in a center hub of the spool. The drag mechanism is a unidirectional dual cone drag mechanism. The drag mechanism comprises a pair of opposing frictional conical race members, an inner race member inserted into an outer race member. The race members are biased into contact to create drag on the rotating spool. A roller clutch is utilized to produce a unidirectional drag mechanism. The roller clutch is configured to lock thereby causing relative rotation of the race members creating frictional drag only when the spool is rotated in the &ldquo;reeling out direction.&rdquo; In another aspect, the roller clutch may be carried by a reversible clutch ring which detachably couples to one of the race members. The clutch ring is reversible thereby allowing the reel to be converted between left hand wind and right hand wind by simple reversing the clutch ring.
