A dishwasher having a treating chamber with one or more sprayers through which liquid is recirculated into the treating chamber, whereby the impact of the spray emitted from the sprayers impacts the structure forming the treating chamber to generate noise. Damping material is applied to structure forming the treating chamber to reduce the sound level of the impact exterior of the dishwasher.

A condenser assembly can fluidly couple to the treating chamber for drying articles washed during the cycler of operation. The condenser assembly can be made of a multi-layer absorptive acoustic material, which attenuates sound emanating from the treating chamber and travelling through the condensing section. The sounds attenuation can provide for reducing or eliminating the need for sound insulation necessary within the dishwasher.

A dishwasher for treating dishes according to an automatic cycle of operation includes a tub with an access opening, at least one dish rack within the treating chamber and accessible through the access opening, a closure element moveable between a closed and opened position to selectively close and open the access opening, and a treating chemistry dispenser. The treating chemistry dispenser includes a housing defining a treating chemistry reservoir with a dispensing opening, a lid slidably mounted to the housing for sliding movement along a travel path between a closed and opened position to selectively open and close the treating chemistry reservoir, and a biasing element operably coupled to the lid and biasing the lid from the closed to the opened position.
