Methods and treatments fluids for treating a wellbore. One example method introduces the treatment fluid into the wellbore. The treatment fluid comprises an aqueous fluid, an aminopolycarboxylic acid, a nanoparticle dispersed, and an organic solvent. The treatment fluid has a pH in a range between about 5 to about 9. The method further includes contacting a rock surface in the subterranean formation; wherein at least a portion of the rock surface is coated with a hydrocarbon. The treatment fluid removes a portion of the hydrocarbon from the rock surface and alters the rock surface to be water-wet.

Nanoparticle wedge effect to induce water wettability

Provided are wellbore treatment fluids and methods to introduce these treatment fluids in a subterranean formation. The treatment fluids include a diverter material and an aqueous carrier fluid. Further, the diverter material comprises a composite material of a polyvinyl alcohol and a plasticizer. The diverter material includes particles having a particle size distribution of about 2 to about 10 U.S. mesh and an aspect ratio of 20:1 or less. The treatment fluid is introduced into a permeable zone of a subterranean formation, wherein the permeable zone is part of a wellbore that is permeated or penetrated by fractures and fissures. The diverter material diverts at least partially the treatment fluid to a different portion of the subterranean formation.

Plasticized polyvinyl alcohol diverter materials

Methods and fluids for consolidating unconsolidated particulates. An example method introduces a furfuryl alcohol-based resin treatment fluid into a wellbore; wherein the furfuryl alcohol-based resin treatment fluid is a furfuryl alcohol-based resin and a diluent. The method contacts the unconsolidated particulates within the wellbore with the furfuryl alcohol-based resin treatment fluid to produce resin-contacted unconsolidated particulates. The method further introduces a substituted amine acid treatment fluid into the wellbore after the introduction of the furfuryl alcohol-based resin treatment fluid into the wellbore; wherein the substituted amine acid treatment fluid is a substituted amine acid salt and a solvent. The method further contacts the resin-contacted unconsolidated particulates with the substituted amine acid treatment fluid.

The present disclosure relates to subterranean formation operations and, more particularly, to embedded treatment fluid additives for use in subterranean formation operations. The embedded treatment additives may comprise an aqueous-soluble downhole reactive material embedded in a crosslinked polymeric solution to delay the reactivity of the aqueous-soluble downhole reactive material, thereby forming the embedded treatment additive, wherein the aqueous-soluble downhole reactive material is a solid.

Accordingly, this disclosure describes systems, compositions, and methods that may use pelletized diverting agent particulates for diversion, fluid loss control, and/or other subterranean treatments for controlling fluid flow in subterranean formations. In an embodiment, a method comprising: introducing a treatment fluid into a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation wherein the treatment fluid comprises: a base fluid; a pelletized diverting agent comprising a degradable polymer, wherein the pelletized diverting agent at least partially plugs a zone in the subterranean formation; and diverting at least a portion of the treatment fluid and/or a subsequently introduced fluid away from the zone. In an embodiment, a treatment fluid comprising: a base fluid; and a pelletized diverting agent comprising a degradable polymer.

A method of stimulating a subterranean carbonate formation includes delivering a composition comprising a hydrophobically modified polymer, a phosphorylated alkyl amino polycarboxylic acid, and a base treatment acid into the subterranean formation; and contacting the subterranean carbonate formation with the composition to form conductive flowpaths in the subterranean carbonate formation. The method may further include producing hydrocarbons from the subterranean carbonate formation. A composition for stimulating a subterranean formation includes a hydrophobically modified polymer; a phosphorylated alkyl amino polycarboxylic acid; and a base treatment acid.

Acidizing compositions for improved fluid performance

A method of producing natural resources from a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation with a Huff and Puff process comprising: (a) placing a recovery enhancing fluid system into the wellbore during an injection (Huff) period of time wherein placing the recovery enhancing fluid system comprises injecting under pressure; (b) ceasing injection of the recovery enhancing fluid system and allowing the composition to soak in the subterranean formation for a soak period of time; (c) producing fluids from the subterranean formation during a production (Puff) period of time; and (d) optionally repeating steps (a) to (c) for a plurality of Huff, soak, and Puff periods of time, respectively.

Enhanced oil recovery harvesting for fractured reservoirs

A variety of methods, compositions, and systems are disclosed, including, a method comprising: introducing a treatment fluid into a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation wherein the treatment fluid comprises: a base fluid; and multi-grade diverting particulates, wherein the multi-grade diverting particulates comprise a degradable polymer, wherein the degradable polymer comprises a first portion of the degradable polymer and a second portion of the degradable polymer of different grades, wherein the multi-grade diverting particulate at least partially plugs a zone in the subterranean formation; and diverting at least a portion of the treatment fluid and/or a subsequently introduced fluid away from the zone.

A method of enhanced oil recovery comprising introducing into one or more injection wells located within a subterranean formation a treatment fluid comprising (i) an aminopolycarboxylic acid comprising a phosphonoalkyl moiety; and ii) a surfactant blend; and removing hydrocarbons from one or more production wells. A method of enhanced oil recovery comprising introducing into one or more injection wells located within a subterranean formation a treatment fluid comprising (i) an aminopolycarboxylic acid comprising a phosphonoalkyl moiety; and ii) a surfactant blend wherein the subterranean formation comprises non-source rock, naturally-fractured rock, low porosity rock, calcite rich reservoir rock or a combination thereof; and removing hydrocarbons from one or more production wells.

Reactive surfactant flooding at neutral pH

A method and system pulse for treating a plurality of wells simultaneously includes applying a high pressure of fracturing fluid to one or more switching valves and repeatedly opening and closing the one or more switching valves to divert the fracturing fluid near instantaneously from one well to the other well to creating a pulse wave into the plurality of wells for fracturing subterranean formations. The one or more switching valves may be a single 3-way valve incorporating the function of two or more switching valves. This technique reduces wear of surface equipment including high pressure pumps that need only provide a constant pressure.

Simulfrac pulsed treatment

Surfactant compositions and methods for hydrocarbon recovery from a subterranean formation are provided. In some embodiments, the methods include: introducing a surfactant composition comprising an aqueous phase, an oil phase, an organic solvent, and one or more surfactants into a wellbore penetrating at least a portion of a subterranean formation; introducing an organic compound comprising a phosphonoalkyl moiety into the wellbore; and at least partially displacing a hydrocarbon from the subterranean formation by contacting a surface in the subterranean formation with the surfactant composition or the organic compound. In some embodiments, the compositions include: an aqueous phase; an oil phase comprising at least one solvent; an organic solvent; one or more surfactants; and at least one organic compound comprising a phosphonoalkyl moiety.

Methods and compositions for hydrocarbon recovery

A method of servicing a wellbore in a subterranean formation comprising: placing components of a wellbore servicing fluid in the wellbore and/or subterranean formation, wherein the components comprise a hydrophobically modified relative permeability modifier, a metal carbonate surface modifier, and a (e.g., aqueous) base fluid; and allowing the wellbore servicing fluid to modify the permeability of at least a portion of the wellbore and/or subterranean formation.

Methods and compositions for introducing a treatment fluid into a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation wherein the treatment fluid comprises: a base fluid; and composite diverting particulates, wherein the composite diverting particulates each comprise a degradable polymer and an oil-soluble material, wherein the composite diverting particulate at least partially plugs a zone in the subterranean formation; and diverting at least a portion of the treatment fluid and/or a subsequently introduced fluid away from the zone.

Well treatment operation comprises introducing nanosized particulates into a formation. The nanosized particulates are synthesized by combining PMIDA, a calcium source, a pH adjusting agent, and an aqueous medium. This combination results in a degradable (i.e., dissolvable) solid that can be used in heterogeneous formations like shale type rock reservoirs, as well as sedimentary rock formations like clastic, siliclastic, sandstone, limestone, calcite, dolomite, and chalk formations, and formations where there is large fluid leak-off due to stimulation treatments. The disclosed particulates may also be used for acidizing treatments in mature fields and deep water formations commonly characterized by high permeability matrices. The solubility of the particulates advantageously allows the material to act as a temporary agent having a lifespan that is a function of temperature, water flux, and pH, making it adaptable to various reservoir conditions with minimal to no risk of adverse effects on the reservoir.
