An orthopaedic surgical instrument for use during a surgical procedure to implant a tibial tray into a surgically-prepared proximal end of a tibia and a femoral component into a surgically-prepared distal end of a femur is disclosed. The surgical instrument includes a metallic impaction handle and a removable polymeric impaction insert.

Impaction instrument for implanting an orthopaedic knee prosthesis and associated method of using the same

An orthopaedic surgical instrument assembly includes a surgical reamer, a cannulated broach, and an instrument handle. The broach includes a bore sized to slide over a shaft of the reamer. The handle attaches to the broach and also includes a bore sized to slide over a shaft of the reamer. A modular broach assembled from a number of broach segments may be used. Methods associated with the surgical instrument assembly are also disclosed.

Cannulated, modular femoral broach and surgical instrument handle

A system configured to design a customized implant includes a cutting tool, a tracker, and design software. The cutting tool is configured to resect bone from an anatomical bone along a cutting path, thereby creating a contoured bone surface. The tracker is configured to track at least a portion of the cutting path and store the at least a portion of the cutting path in a memory. The design software is configured to design an implant having a contoured implant surface that matches the contoured bone surface based at least in part on the stored cutting path.

Customized implant and method

An orthopaedic surgical instrument system includes a hinged tibial insert trial and a tibial base trial. A post adapter is sized to be positioned over a post of the tibial base trial and to be positioned in a central opening defined in the hinged tibial insert trial. The hinged tibial insert trial includes a housing configured to be received in a femoral component and a button mechanism to selectively secure the hinged tibial insert trial to the femoral component. The system may include a shim trial sized to be attached to an inferior surface of the hinged tibial insert trial.

A superior surface of the central post has a ramp surface defined therein, with the ramp surface inclining superiorly in the anterior-to-posterior direction.

An orthopaedic surgical instrument system includes a first broach including a first end configured to be separately secured to a handle and a tapered body having a plurality of cutting teeth defined therein, and a second broach including a first end configured to be separately secured to the handle in place of the first broach, a first tapered body extending distally from a second end positioned opposite the first end, and a second tapered body extending distally from the first tapered body. The tapered body of the first broach and the first tapered body of the second broach have a first outer geometry and the second tapered body has a second outer geometry different from the first outer geometry.

The main component has a housing and an elongated body extending from the housing with a passageway is defined in the elongated body. The rod has an elongated shaft, with a greater length than the elongated body, extending from the head of the rod and configured to pass through the main component. The spindle threads into the housing to move the rod along a longitudinal axis.

An orthopaedic prosthesis includes a femoral component configured to be attached to a distal end of a patient's femur. A tibial tray is configured to be attached to a proximal end of a patient's tibia. A tibial insert is configured to rotate relative to the tibial tray. A modular insert is received in a cavity defined in the tibial insert. The femoral component is rotatably coupled to the body of the modular insert.

An orthopaedic surgical instrument system for use during a surgical procedure to implant an orthopaedic knee prosthesis includes a tibial base trial component adapted to be positioned on a surgically-prepared proximal end of a patient's tibia and an insert component shaped to be received in an opening defined in the tibial base trial component. An orthopaedic prosthesis assembly includes a first prosthetic component, a second prosthetic component, and a fastener. The first prosthetic component includes a threaded bore. The second prosthetic component includes an opening and a threaded inner wall that extends inwardly from the opening. The fastener includes a first axial section having a first plurality of threads engaged with the threaded inner wall the second prosthetic component, and a second axial section having a second plurality of threads engaged with the threaded bore of the first prosthetic component to secure the first prosthetic component to the second prosthetic component.
