An improved Type C air conditioning hose is provided that meets or exceeds SAE J2064 and J3062 requirements, offers good flexibility and fracture resistance, and exhibits improved permeation ratings for refrigerants including R134a and R1234yf. The multilayer type C barrier air conditioning hose includes an inner elastomeric tube layer capable of direct bonding to plastic without an intervening adhesive. The inner elastomeric layer is prepared from a first elastomeric composition comprising a blend of an ethylene propylene diene terpolymer rubber (EPDM) and a chloroprene rubber (CR), phenylenedimaleimide, and a maleated compound.

Low permeation type C air conditioning hose

A self-healing hydraulic seal is provided. The self-healing hydraulic seal is prepared from a water-swellable elastomeric composition comprising a base polymer and a plant-based polysaccharide.

Self-healing water-swellable hydraulic seal

A non-conductive rubber hose is provided exhibiting lower conductivity compared to conventional EPDM hose, and reduced stiffness compared to conventional non-conductive thermoplastic hose. The hose is useful for applications such as in hydraulics for boom trucks, and for coolant in plasma cutting tools.

Non conductive rubber hose

A hose is provided comprising a rubber backing layer directly bonded to a continuous polyamide layer without an intervening adhesive layer, wherein the hose exhibits increased low and high temperature capability and decreased permeation compared to standard automotive refrigerant hoses.

Hose with rubber and plastic

A hose is provided capable of meeting fireproof requirements per AS1055 under no flow condition. The hose has multiple layers of fire protection comprising a silicone rubber layer impregnated with additives including zinc borate and expandable graphite.
