Disclosed is an extractor for an autoloading firearm, the extractor having an extractor body extending a proximal end portion to a distal end portion. A knuckle is between the proximal end portion and the distal end portion and defines a pin opening extending crosswise through the extractor, where the pin opening has an elongated shape. During rearward movement of the bolt after firing, the elongated opening enables the extractor to shift downward and/or forward so that part of the extractor contacts the bolt, thereby preventing the extractor from pivoting about the extractor pin.

Extractor for an autoloading firearm

A firing pin lock for firearms is provided. The firing pin lock is a single piece of resilient metal that includes a pocket for receiving the head of the firing pin to prevent inadvertent discharge of the firearm. The firing pin lock can be mounted laterally in the bolt carrier group and is deflected outwardly by the action of the hammer.

Techniques and architectures are disclosed for a gas operating system for a firearm. The system includes a barrel having a bore including a rifled portion. Attached to the barrel is a gas block. Located distally of the rifled portion of the bore is a gas expansion chamber in fluid communication with the bore and the gas block. In some examples, the gas expansion chamber includes a diameter at least twice the bore diameter. The gas block of the gas operating system, in some examples, includes a piston, where in response to receiving gases from the gas expansion chamber, the piston cycles the gas operating system.

A weapon system is provided. The weapon system includes a receiver and an operating group. The operating group includes a bolt at least partially housed within the receiver; an operating rod (op-rod) assembly arranged to axially translate within the bolt. The system further includes a hinge or pivot joint at a connection between the recoil assembly and the carrier assembly, a firing pin lock, an elastomeric cone interface between the bolt assembly and the receiver, a hollowed out piston, and/or tapering on the lug of the bolt assembly.

The present invention provides a printing press. The printing press includes a frame, a plate cylinder, a plate cylinder support supporting the plate cylinder, a blanket cylinder for receiving an image from the plate cylinder, a blanket cylinder support supporting the blanket cylinder, an impression cylinder for supporting a printing substrate between the blanket cylinder and the impression cylinder, an actuator connected to and controlling a position of the plate cylinder support or the blanket cylinder support and a controller providing the actuator with a position setpoint, the actuator receiving position feedback signals to maintain the position setpoint during a printing operation. The present invention also provides a method for operating a printing press.
