A method for unicast UWB ranging includes receiving UWB sensor data from a plurality of UWB sensors. The UWB sensors include UWB anchors and a UWB tag. The method further includes assigning a priority to each of the plurality of UWB to create a schedule. Also, the method includes synchronizing a global clock to generate a synchronized global time. Moreover, the method includes determining a maximum time gap and a minimum time gap, wherein the minimum time gap is a minimum amount of time needed between a first sensor reading and a second sensor reading of the plurality of UWB sensors to avoid UWB signal collision, the maximum time gap is a maximum predetermined amount of time between sensor readings of the plurality of UWB sensors; and updating the schedule based on the synchronized global time, the minimum time gap, and the maximum time gap.

An advertisement system includes a tuner, an error detection and correction circuit, a decoder, and an output device. The tuner is operational to listen on a first channel of a plurality of channels for a first received packet during a current scan window. The error detection and correction circuit is operational to command the tuner to listen on a second channel of the plurality of channels within the current scan window for a second received packet in response to (i) an incomplete reception of the first received packet or (ii) the first received packet having uncorrectable errors, and correct the first received packet to create a first advertisement packet in response to the first received packet being received and correctable. The decoder is operational to decode the first advertisement packet to generate first advertisement information. The output device is operational to present the first advertisement information as first advertisement data.

The method comprises calculating a predicted location of the UWB tag based on the aligned data and a least square of error to define a first constructed matrix and a second constructed matrix. The method comprises determining a local error of each of the at least four UWB anchors based on the least square of error and comparing each local error with an error threshold to define a first threshold high. The method comprises determining an erratic anchor based on the first threshold high.

System and method for diagnosing sensor performance of an ultra wide band sensor localization

Systems and methods for diagnosing sensor performance of a UWB sensor localization are provided. The system comprises a UWB tag, at least four UWB anchors, and a gateway. The gateway comprises an ECU arranged to receive sensor signals from the UWB anchors. The ECU comprises a preprocessing module arranged to align the sensor signals defining aligned data and is arranged to determine intersections of the aligned data defining points of intersections. The system further comprises a clustering module arranged to cluster the points of intersections defining at least one cluster of points of the UWB anchors to calculate a clustering quality and a clustering variance of each of the at least one cluster. The ECU is arranged to find a clustering contribution of each anchor defining a first contribution low of one of the anchors and is arranged to determine an erratic anchor based the first contribution low.

A wireless communication system for a vehicle includes a wireless access point (AP), an ultra-wide band (UWB) system, a communication link, a controller, and a vehicle system. The UWB system is in communication with the wireless AP via a communication link. The wireless communication system is operable to detect, via the wireless AP, a request for localized wireless communication. The UWB system requests the wireless AP to generate a clear to send (CTS) transmission, which includes selecting an ultra-wide band (UWB) channel, mapping the UWB channel to a plurality of WiFi channels, and transmitting, by the wireless AP, the CTS transmission to each of the plurality of WiFi channels. The UWB system then transmits a UWB message.

A method and system of resilient UWB target localization for a vehicle are provided. The system comprises a UWB tag arranged to be mobile and trackable by way of a sensor signal and at least three UWB anchors. Each anchor is in communication with the tag. The system further comprises a gateway in communication with the anchors. The gateway comprises an ECU arranged to receive sensor signals from UWB anchors. The ECU comprises a preprocessing module, a clustering module, and a Bayesian module. The preprocessing module is arranged to align sensor signals at an aligned timestamp to define aligned data. The clustering module is arranged to cluster points of intersections, defining a sensed location for each cluster. The Bayesian module is arranged to determine a real-time location of the tag based on a Bayesian probability function to match the sensed location with a predicted location of the tag.
