A separator for an electrochemical device is provided. The separator includes a porous polymer substrate, and an electrode adhesive layer formed on at least one surface of the porous polymer substrate, wherein the electrode adhesive layer includes a binder polymer and has at least two electrode adhesive layer units including at least two lines extending from a long side to a short side of the separator, and the units do not cross each other. Herein, a unit merely formed by lines extending from one long side to the other long side of the separator, or a unit merely formed by lines extending from one short side to the other short side of the separator is not included. The separator is effective for reducing a time required for impregnation of an electrode with an electrolyte, while providing excellent electrode-separator adhesion.

Separator for electrochemical device comprising a patterned electrode adhesive layer and a method for manufacturing the separator

Provided is a separator for an electrochemical device, including: a porous polymer substrate; and a porous organic/inorganic coating layer formed on at least one surface of the porous polymer substrate and including heat conductive inorganic particles and core-shell particles, wherein the particles are bound to one another by a binder polymer, and wherein the core-shell particle includes a core portion and a shell portion surrounding the surface of the core portion, the core portion includes a metal hydroxide having heat-absorbing property at 150-400° C., the shell portion includes a polymer resin, and the polymer resin is a water-insoluble polymer or crosslinked polymer. An electrochemical device including the separator is also provided. It is possible to provide a separator with an improved heat-absorbing effect and safety, and an electrochemical device including the same.

Separator for electrochemical device, electrochemical device comprising the same and manufacturing method of the separator

A separator having low resistance, suitable porosity and electrolyte retention while ensuring heat resistance is provided. The separator includes a porous substrate and a low-resistance coating layer formed on at least one surface of the porous substrate, wherein the low-resistance coating layer includes node(s) containing inorganic particles and a polymer resin covering at least a part of the surfaces of inorganic particles, and filament(s) formed from the polymer resin of the node in a thread-like shape, at least one filament extended from one node is formed, and the filaments are arranged in such a manner that they connect one node with another node.

Separator having inorganic coating layer including small weight average molecular weight and low melting point PVDF, and method for manufacturing the same

A crosslinked polyolefin separator having an average value of light transmittance of 30% or more in a region of 380 nm to 700 nm, after four sides of the separator are fixed and allowed to stand at 130° C. for 30 minutes. A method for manufacturing the crosslinked polyolefin separator is also provided. The crosslinked polyolefin separator has a low shutdown temperature to provide improved safety. The crosslinked polyolefin separator also has a high meltdown temperature and is inhibited from die-drooling.

Cross-linked polyolefin separator and method for producing same

A separator for an electrochemical device, including a porous substrate and an inorganic coating layer formed on at least one surface of the porous substrate and method for manufacturing the same are provided. The inorganic coating layer includes a binder resin and inorganic particles, and the binder resin includes a polyvinylidene fluoride-based resin and shows a low electrolyte absorption ratio. The separator has excellent adhesion with an electrode and shows low resistance characteristics.

Separator for electrochemical device comprising inorganic coating layer and method for manufacturing the same

A crosslinked polyolefin separator which has gels with a longer side length of 50 &#x3bc;m or more in a number ranging from 0 to 3 per 1 mof the separator, and shows a standard deviation of absorbance ratio between the center of the separator and the side thereof ranging from 0.01 to 0.5 is provided. A method for manufacturing the crosslinked polyolefin separator is also provided. The method includes (S1) preparing a polyolefin porous membranes, and (S2) applying a coating solution containing an initiator and alkoxy group-containing vinylsilane onto at least one surface of the porous membrane. The coating solution can permeate even to the inside of exposed pores. Thus, it is possible to provide a crosslinked polyolefin separator in which silane crosslinking occurs uniformly even inside of the pores.

Crosslinked polyolefin separator and manufacturing method therefor

A method for manufacturing a crosslinked polyolefin separator and the crosslinked polyolefin separator obtained by the method are provided. The method includes (S1) mixing polyolefin, a diluting agent, an initiator and alkoxysilane containing a carbon-carbon double bonded group to an extruder, and then carrying out extrusion to obtain a silane-grafted polyolefin composition; (S2) molding and orienting the extruded silane-grafted polyolefin composition in the form of a sheet; (S3) introducing the oriented sheet to an extraction water bath containing a crosslinking catalyst to extract the diluting agent and perform aqueous crosslinking; and (S4) thermally fixing a resultant aqueous crosslinked product. The method can provide a separator having a high meltdown temperature and improved heat shrinkage.

Crosslinked polyolefin separator and method for manufacturing the same

A separator for an electrochemical device is provided. The separator includes a porous polymer substrate, and a porous coating layer formed on at least one surface of the porous polymer substrate, wherein the porous coating layer includes inorganic particles, a first polyvinylidene fluoride copolymer and a second polyvinylidene fluoride copolymer. A method for manufacturing the separator, and an electrochemical device including the same are also provided. It is possible to provide a separator with excellent adhesion between the porous polymer substrate and the porous coating layer and excellent adhesion to an electrode, and an electrochemical device including the same.
