Imaging systems, including radio frequency, microwave and millimeter-wave arrangements, and related methods are described. According to one aspect, an imaging system includes an antenna array, a position capture system configured to generate position information indicative of locations of one of the antenna array and the target at the first and second moments in time, and wherein the one of the antenna array and the target move between the first and second moments in time, a transceiver configured to control the antenna array to emit electromagnetic energy towards the target and to generate an output that is indicative of the received electromagnetic energy, a data acquisition system configured to generate radar data, processing circuitry configured to process the position information and the radar data to generate image data regarding the target, and an interface configured to use the image data to generate visual images regarding the target.

Imaging systems and related methods including radar imaging with moving arrays or moving targets

A shared aperture antenna array including an array of antennas is disclosed. Elements of neighboring antennas are shared to create additional antennas. The shared elements include radiating patches and apertures. Each antenna shares an aperture with neighboring antennas. The array of antennas may be linear or two-dimensional. A phase shifting network with single-pole-single-throw reflective switches may be coupled to the antennas.

Antenna assemblies and antenna systems are described. According to one aspect, a printed circuit board antenna system includes a dielectric substrate comprising first and second surfaces that are opposite to one another, first electrically conductive material of an antenna element adjacent to the first surface of the dielectric substrate, wherein the antenna element is configured to emit electromagnetic energy, and second electrically conductive material of a ground plane adjacent to the second surface of the dielectric substrate, wherein the ground plane is aligned with the antenna element and configured to reflect some of the electromagnetic energy in a direction towards the antenna element.

Antenna assemblies and antenna systems

Footwear scanning systems and associated methods are described. According to one aspect, a footwear scanning system includes a base, a shuttle configured to rotate beneath the base, wherein the shuttle comprises an antenna array configured to transmit electromagnetic waves through the base into footwear above the base during the rotation of the shuttle and to receive electromagnetic waves reflected from the footwear during the rotation of the shuttle, a transceiver coupled with the antenna array and configured to apply electrical signals to the antenna array to generate the transmitted electromagnetic waves and to receive electrical signals from the antenna array corresponding to the received electromagnetic waves, and processing circuitry configured to process an output of the transceiver corresponding to the received electromagnetic waves to provide information regarding contents within the footwear.

Footwear scanning systems and methods

A regenerative feedback resonant circuit for measuring a transient response in a loop is disclosed. The circuit includes an amplifier for generating a signal in the loop. The circuit further includes a resonator having a resonant cavity and a material located within the cavity. The signal sent into the resonator produces a resonant frequency. A variation of the resonant frequency due to perturbations in electromagnetic properties of the material is measured.
