Patent №: 11787060 (October 17, 2023) – Remote presence system mounted to operating room hardware.

This invention showcases a robot system integrating a remote station and a robot face. The robot face is equipped with a camera that connects to a monitor on the remote station, while the monitor is connected to a camera on the remote station. Additionally, both the robot face and remote station include built-in speakers and microphones. The system is designed for medical personnel to provide medical consultation remotely, enabling real-time collaboration between professionals.

Robert David Allen

Senior Research Fellow at National Renewable Energy Laboratory.

He was Department Head of Polymer Science & Technology at the IBM Almaden Research Center in San Jose, California, where he spent 35 years as an industrial polymer chemist and research leader.  While at IBM, he developed a chemical recycling process called the VolCat process, a catalyzed glycolysis depolymerization of PET and other polyesters for the production of high-quality monomer from low quality mixed waste plastics.

For much of his career at IBM Research, Allen was focused on inventing polymers for semiconductor patterning.

Patent №: 11787917 (October 17, 2023) – Recycling process for the recovery of cotton from polyester-cotton fabrics and/or fibers.

It details a method to obtain polyester-free cotton from fabrics and fibers containing polyester and cotton. By utilizing an amine organocatalyst and an alcohol solvent, the process converts polyester-cotton materials into polyester monomer product, unreacted alcohol, the amine organocatalyst, and polyester-free cotton as a solid inert by-product. This groundbreaking approach enables the recycling of polyester-cotton blends, even with the presence of additional materials such as polyethers, polyolefins, nylon, and more.

Daniel Marks

SVP Gaming, Aristocrat.

Patent №: 11790732 (October 17, 2023) – Game presentation including multiple linked awards.

This patent outlines a gaming machine and method that utilizes a variety of trigger conditions to determine the awarding of prizes from multiple hierarchical tiers. This innovative approach allows for dynamic and diverse gameplay experiences.

Patent №: 11790728 (October 17, 2023) – Systems and methods for playing a wagering game in which symbols are populated from one or more reels to a bingo card.

This showcases Marks’ ingenuity in merging the excitement of electronic gaming machines with the popular appeal of bingo. This unique concept integrates symbol positions from multiple reels into a matrix and determines winning outcomes based on the numerical value of prize symbols formed in the matrix of bingo positions. It presents an engaging and immersive gaming experience for enthusiasts.

Jason Crabtree

Mr. Crabtree is the CEO of QOMPLX, where he leads an effort focused on unified Identity Threat Detection and Response, Attack Surface Monitoring and broader open XDR capabilities that include real-time streaming analytics.

He has an extensive background in developing next-generation operational risk management and situational awareness tools and information sharing in multi-spatial, multi-temporal distributed systems across a variety of civilian, defense and intelligence applications.

Patent №: 11792229 (October 17, 2023) –  AI-driven defensive cybersecurity strategy analysis and recommendation system. This system employs machine learning algorithms to analyze cybersecurity attack strategies and provides informed recommendations for improving networked systems’ defensive capabilities. By simulating attack and defense strategies against a model of the networked system, the system assesses potential risks and proposes cost-effective solutions, bolstering the overall cybersecurity posture.

Andrew Sellers

Head of Technology Strategy at Confluent.

Patent №: 11792229 (October 17, 2023) – AI-driven defensive cybersecurity strategy analysis and recommendation system.

An automated cybersecurity analysis system predicts new attack strategies, recommends network security improvements, and evaluates cost-effectiveness. It employs machine learning algorithms to simulate attacks and defenses on a network model represented as a directed graph. Recommendations are based on cost/benefit analysis of simulation results.

Sven Kordon

Software developer Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG.

Patent №: 11792591 (October 17, 2023) – Method and apparatus for compressing and decompressing a higher order Ambisonics signal representation.

This innovation focuses on decompressing HOA signal representations, allowing for the accurate reproduction of three-dimensional sound independent of specific loudspeaker setups.

By decoding encoded directional and ambient signals and utilizing side information related to the directional signal, Kordon’s invention effectively converts the decoded ambient signal from a spatial domain to an HOA domain representation. This allows for the recomposition of a Higher Order Ambisonics (HOA) signal, ensuring optimum perceptual quality.

Byeongdoo Choi

Principal Research Scientist at Amazon Prime Video.

Mr. Choi received B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electronics engineering and computer science from Korea University in 2001, 2003, and 2007, respectively.

Patent №: 11792432 (October 17, 2023) – Techniques for signaling and identifying access unit boundaries.

This patent presents a method and apparatus for identifying Access Unit (AU) boundaries in a coded video bitstream. By correlating information from multiple Network Abstraction Layer (NAL) units and fields, this technique facilitates accurate identification of AU boundaries, enhancing video decoding efficiency and quality.
