Prolific inventors in Taiwan include Lin Yutang (1895 – 1976), who came up with the workable Chinese typewriter and was one the most influential writers of his generation; Peter Tsai, who is best known for inventing and patenting the N95 mask filter; A universal crossed molecular beam apparatus for studying chemical reactions was developed by the chemist Yuan Tseh Lee (1936); Pua Khein-Seng – is regarded in Malaysia as the inventor of USB flash drive; Hsiang-Tsung Kung, he proposed the optimistic concurrency control method, a key principle in memory and database transaction systems; David Da-i Ho (1952), who has made a number of scientific contributions to the understanding and treatment of HIV infection; Simon Min Sze (1936), he is best known for inventing the floating-gate MOSFET.
