Irving L Weissman

Dr. Weissman is a Professor of Pathology and Developmental Biology at Stanford University where he is the Director of the Stanford Institute of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine along with Michael Longaker.

He developed methods to identify stem cells, and has extensively researched stem cells and progenitor cells. Dr. Weissman’s research focus is “the phylogeny and developmental biology of the cells that make up the blood-forming and immune system.

His work has contributed to the understanding of how a single hematopoietic stem cell can give rise to specialized blood cells.

Weissman is also a leading expert in the field of cancer stem cell biology, where his work sheds light on the understanding of the pathogenesis of multiple human malignancies. He is also known for transgenic research in which human brain cells are grown in the brains of mice.

Patent №: 11773165 (October 3, 2023) – Markers of acute myeloid leukemia stem cells.

Gerard De Haan

Gerard de Haan is a Professor of Electronic Systems within the Department of Electrical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e).

His research field is video signal processing in a broad sense. Application areas include multimedia systems and video health monitoring. The general goal of the processing is a signal enhancement to improve the image quality and accurate sensing of vital signals amidst strong artifacts, with topics including: noise and artifact reduction, video format conversion, display specific processing, and enabling technologies such as motion estimation and object detection.

De Haan’s research has been documented in 4 books and 3 book chapters, about 200 papers

Patent №: 11771381 (October 3, 2023) – Device, system and method for measuring and processing physiological signals of a subject.

image 94

This invention focuses on monitoring vascular health parameters through a device that extracts and analyzes time-varying signals indicative of cardiac-synchronous motion. By combining these signals based on their polarity, De Haan’s invention enables the determination of vital vascular health parameters accurately.

Shuanshuan Wu

Shuanshuan Wu received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from Northeastern University, China, in 2006 and 2008, respectively.

His current research interests include the design, analysis, and modeling of wireless/cellular communications systems.

Patent №: 11778642 (October 3, 2023) –Facilitating device-to-device communications.

Patent №: 11778585 (October 3, 2023) – Sidelink positioning reference signal transmission and reception.

Patent №: 11778517 (October 3, 2023) – Resource reservation information sharing with data. Wu addresses the need for efficient wireless communication. This patent focuses on the transmission of data on a sidelink channel, utilizing resource reservations transmitted within a control element.

This innovation effectively enhances wireless communication capabilities, enabling more efficient data transmission in various applications.

Patent №: 11778435 (October 3, 2023) – Sidelink assisted cellular operation optimization.

image 85

It tackles the optimization of cellular links with the aid of sidelinks. By using a Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) ID of a user equipment (UE), a base station such as a gNB can gather information about the UE from a roadside unit (RSU). This information, including location, speed, or path details, optimizes cellular communication with the UE. The patent explores how this optimization can positively impact cellular network performance and efficiency, ultimately improving user experience.

Patent №: 11778655 (October 3, 2023) –Techniques for configuring multiple frequency domain opportunities for sidelink feedback.
