Welcome to the 27th of June 2023: Our goal is to celebrate the pioneering inventor recognitions who have reached noteworthy milestones in their fields this week.
Tiffany A Beers
Head of Innovation & Sustainability for Logitech G & Astro Gaming.
Tiffany grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania and studied at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College for her Bachelor of Science in Plastics Engineering Technology.
Tiffany then went on to be a Product Design Engineer for 2 years at Newell Rubbermaid, a Product Innovator for 13 years at Nike and most recently a Technical Program Manager for Tesla.
She is experienced in product development from concept thru mass production of consumer goods.
Tiffany has been featured in Wired Magazine (Oct ‘16), Netflix-Abstract The Art of Design, The Today Show, The New York Times and the book “Sneakers” for her innovative work on Nike’s Electro Adaptive Reactive Lacing (EARL) Technology.

Patent №: 11684109 (June 27, 2023) – Rear access article of footwear with movable heel portion. This footwear article consists of a sole structure and an upper with front and rear sections. The front section is fixed to the forefoot region of the sole structure and forms part of the foot-receiving area. The rear section is attached to the sole structure behind the front section and has medial and lateral wings. The upper incorporates sets of magnets: a medial set with magnets on the front section and medial wing, and a lateral set with magnets on the front section and lateral wing.
Tiejun Xia
Dr. TJ Xia is a recognized expert in optical communications working at Verizon. He is also an adjunct professor at Miami University in Ohio.
He earned his Ph.D. degree from UCF, MS degree from ZU, and BS degree from USTC. Dr. Xia is an OSA Fellow. He was a research scientist at UM and an adjunct professor at UT Dallas.
He has published more than 150 technical papers and contributed chapters in four technical books. He is the winner of MCI’s Technology Leadership Award, Verizon’s Telecom Leaders Circle Award and UCF’s Professional Achievement Award.
Dr Xia has been studying creative thinking for decades and come up with a practical method for formulating clever solutions. He has been using the method in his work successfully. Verizon featured him as a “Verizon Innovator” on YouTube in 2013, published an article Seeing What Can’t Be Seen in 2016 dedicated to his accomplishments in innovation, and named him “Master Inventor” in 2020. He was the Chief Innovation Officer of the IEEE Dallas Section.
He has given numerous public speeches on innovation-skill enhancement to professional groups, community gatherings and student organizations. To promote the innovation method, he has published three books, How to Inspire Outstanding Ideas, Can You Solve It? and One hundred Lectures on Innovation. He hopes that people will be able to accomplish more in their jobs and businesses by reading his books and practicing the innovation method.

Patent №: 11686602 (June 27, 2023) – Method for providing a hybrid distributed fiber optic sensing system with improved connection to existing deployed fiber infrastructure. It involves integrating a DFOS interrogator system and adding separate lengths of fiber optic sensory cable to the communications fiber optic cable. The DFOS interrogator system generates and transmits sensory data, such as acoustic, temperature, or vibration data, through the sensory cables, which capture different types of sensory data.

Mr. Cole received his BSE in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University in 1999.

Asati drives a significant focus on cross-Architecture opportunities collaborating with BE/TG leaders etc. while keeping a sharp data-driven focus on Customers’ objectives.
Patent №: 11689505 (June 27, 2023) – Dynamic proxy response from the application container. This disclosure presents a method to secure communications between a cloud environment source and an application container using a dynamic proxy. It involves intercepting and analyzing traffic directed to the container, allowing or blocking delivery based on analysis results. A traffic analysis engine determines safety, and abstracting network interface addresses enhance container security.
Xipeng Zhu

He is also a Senior Staff Engineer at Qualcomm since July 2006.
Zhu received B.S. in Telecommunication Engineering from Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 1996; an M.S. and Ph.D. in Wireless communication from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 2001 and 2012 respectively.
