Yan Li

VP of Engineering at Western Digital.

Yan Li received a B.S. degree in physics from the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China, in 1986; an M.S. in Physics and a Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, in 1990 and in 1994, respectively.

In 1998 she joined SanDisk Corporation, Milpitas, CA, to work on NOR flash memory failure analysis. Since 2000 she has worked on NAND flash memory circuit design.

In 2015 Yan joined Western Digital and she is currently a VP of Design Engineering.

Yan Ye

She received B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1994 and 1997, respectively, and a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of California at San Diego, CA, USA, in 2002.

Yan Ye is currently the Head of video standards and implementations with Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, Sunnyvale, CA, USA. She oversees multimedia standards development, hardware and software video codec implementations, and AI-based video research.

Prior to Alibaba, she was with the Research and Development Laboratories, InterDigital Communications, Image Technology Research, Dolby Laboratories, and Multimedia Research and Development and Standards, Qualcomm.

Yan was involved in the development of various video coding and streaming standards. She has published more than 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.

Her research interests include advanced video coding, processing, and streaming algorithms, real-time and immersive video communications, AR/VR, and deep-learning-based video coding, processing, and quality assessment.

Yan is also an Editor of the VVC Test Model and the 360Lib algorithm description and was previously the Co-Editor of the scalable extension and the screen content coding extension of the HEVC standard.

She is currently Principal Engineer at Intel Corporation.

Emily received BS in Electrical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology; MS in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University; Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Portland State University.

Her research interest includes Wi-Fi protocols, wireless system design and algorithms, security, Wireless Network Management, Power Save, QoS, Radio Resource Measurement, Audio/Video codec, location, discovery, and Application Service Platform.
