Centurion Patentors as of January 7, 2025
This week, we aim to celebrate the centurion patentors who have reached noteworthy milestones in their fields.

Duncan Robert Kerr
Mr. Kerr is a design expert who worked at Apple from September 1999 to June 2024. Over his nearly 25-year tenure, he was deeply involved in the design and development of some of Apple’s most iconic products, including multiple generations of the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
His work reflects a commitment to creativity, innovation, and crafting products that combine functionality with aesthetic excellence.

Patent №: D1056906 – Head-mounted display.

Patent №: D1056905 – Display unit.

Patent №: D1056898 – Electronic device.

Patent №: 12190714 – Devices, methods, and graphical user interfaces for providing haptic feedback. An electronic device with a user interface detects a drag gesture on a touch-sensitive surface. If the focus selector corresponds to a first adjustable control, it outputs a specific tactile pattern. If it corresponds to a second adjustable control, it outputs a different tactile pattern, providing distinct feedback for each control.

Wanshi Chen
Wanshi Chen is a prominent leader in telecommunications with over 20 years of experience across operators, infrastructure vendors, and chipset companies.
As Chair of the 3GPP TSG RAN plenary, he plays a key role in developing global wireless standards.
Patent №: 12193021 – Access network and sidelink joint scheduling. A UE receives a control message from a base station to schedule both network and sidelink communications. The UE derives control information and communicates with the base station and another UE accordingly.

Patent №: 12193015 – Control channel designs for dynamic full duplex enabling. Methods for wireless communications enable a base station to indicate full duplex operation using downlink control information (DCI). The base station may send a DCI with one uplink and one downlink grant or use a two-stage DCI process with partial and full grants.

Patent №: 12192010 – Semistatic codebook for simultaneous reception. Techniques for reducing semistatic codebook size for HARQ feedback involve a UE determining: the number (M) of candidate downlink transmission occasions, the maximum (k) simultaneous downlink transmissions it can receive, and the number of actual downlink transmissions.

Patent №: 12191955 – Ultra-reliable low latency communication with multiple transmission-reception points. Techniques enable UEs to perform CSI reporting, SRS transmissions, and PDCCH reception based on URLLC BLER targets. CSI reports are generated using received CSI-RSs from quasi co-located antenna ports. SRS transmissions follow configurations aligned with the BLER target.

Patent №: 12191953 – Configurations for omitting channel state information. A UE may omit parts of a CSI report if its payload exceeds transmission capacity, selecting an omission configuration based on reporting parameters or base station instructions.
