Jun Koyama

Jun Koyama received the B.S. degree in physics from Rikkyo University, Japan, in 1980.

He joined Semiconductor Energy Laboratory Co., Ltd., Atsugi, Japan, in 1992. Since then, Jun has been working on the development of TFTs and LSIs.

Patent №: 12228971 – Electronic book. An e-book reader with flexible display panels prevents driver circuit damage during handling and has a simplified structure. Panels are bound together, with the signal line driver in the binding portion and the scan line driver at the panel edge.

Dr. Wang received the B.S. degree in industrial automation from the Beijing Institute of Technology in 1995, and the Ph.D. degree in information and telecommunication engineering from the Graduate School in Beijing, University of Science and Technology of China, in 2001.

A method involves converting a video picture to a bitstream while determining deblocking parameter offsets for chroma components based on syntax elements and predefined rules.

Patent №: 12231691 – Decoding capability information in common media application format. A video processing mechanism determines information in a DCI NAL unit, enforcing a rule that sets dci_num_ptls_minus1 to zero in a VVC CMAF track.

Patent №: 12231661 – Picture timing and decoding unit information for temporal scalability. A decoding method includes receiving a bitstream with a coded picture and an SEI message containing CPB parameters for DU-based HRD operations, then decoding the picture. A corresponding encoding method is also provided.

Patent №: 12231659 – Number restriction for sublayers. A video processing method involves converting a video with multiple layers to a bitstream based on a rule. The rule ensures that if a sequence parameter set (SPS) references a video layer, the maximum sublayers in the video parameter set match those in the SPS.

Patent №: 12231653 – Signaling of gradual decoding refresh and reference picture lists. A video processing method converts a video picture to a bitstream based on a rule allowing an inter-layer reference picture (ILRP) to have a gradual decoding refresh (GDR) type, with a recovery point syntax element set to 0 in output order.

Patent №: 12231599 – Computing devices configured for location-aware caller identification and methods/systems of use thereof.

A machine learning-based system for location-aware caller ID associates user phone numbers with locations. It extracts location data from transactions and uses a trained model to annotate phone records with location details at a specified granularity.

Patent №: 12231597 – Computer-based systems configured for automatically generating fictitious call session interaction parameter(s) and methods of use thereof. A computer-implemented method verifies call sessions using machine learning while protecting user data. It obtains user permission to monitor activities, authenticates the user based on interaction parameters, replaces session data with fictitious parameters, and transmits the verified request via a telecom network, modifying the call notification GUI accordingly.

Patent №: 12229231 – Generation of authentication questions based on user-created transaction limitations. A system enhances authentication accuracy using user-defined transaction limits. Upon an access request, it queries account rules, generates an authentication question based on potential rule violations, and grants access if the user’s response is correct.
