Welcome to April 8, 2025. This week, we aim to celebrate the centurion patentors who have reached noteworthy milestones in their fields.
World Wide VP of Advanced R&D for Biosense Webster a Johnson & Johnson Company.
Patent №: 12268436 – Systems and methods of ablating cardiac tissue.
The system includes a display with a user interface and a processor that controls electrodes on a radiofrequency balloon catheter for tissue ablation. It determines the likelihood of PVI success based on ablation parameters and presents visual indicators on the display reflecting success predictions for each electrode.

Patent №: 12272196 – Systems and methods for providing a secure physical storage system.
A storage box is registered with location and security data, verified, and recorded on the blockchain. A user device is assigned the box and an identity token. When the token is received, the system unlocks the box.
Patent №: 12271768 – Systems and methods for removing identifiable information. The system stores text data, receives target pattern types and censorship rules, builds models for each pattern, detects sensitive patterns in the text, identifies target characters, and assigns identification tokens for censorship.
Patent №: 12271489 – Use of word embeddings to locate sensitive text in computer programming scripts. Some embodiments use word embeddings to improve scanning of code scripts for sensitive content, such as passwords or credentials. A neural network, trained on a code corpus, identifies both keywords and related terms. The scan produces a ranked list of terms potentially linked to sensitive subject matter.

Yushu Zhang received his Master’s degree in communication and information systems from Beijing Jiaotong University, China, in 2011.
Patent №: 12273906 – Flexible aperiodic SRS triggering in a cellular communication system. A base station transmits flexible DCI (format 0_1 or 0_2) to a UE. The DCI includes UL-SCH = 0, CSI request = 0s, and a nonzero SRS request → UE sends aperiodic SRS but doesn’t transmit on PUSCH. DCI may include slot offset or beam info for SRS. The base station can also trigger SRS for multiple UEs or groups with one DCI for efficiency.
Patent №: 12273898 – Enhanced dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) in cell groups. The sSCell can schedule a primary cell (SpCell) in a master or secondary cell group. It may be activated, deactivated, or enter dormancy, with support for RLM, BFR, and cell grouping. UE-specific search spaces (USS) with fallback or non-fallback DCI enhance DSS.
Patent №: 12273889 – Enhanced uplink transmission in wireless communication. A user equipment (UE) can configure uplink (UL) transmissions using different sequence lengths based on conditions like coexisting RAT, UE capability, occupied channel bandwidth (OCB), or UL transmission type. The UE selects a first or second sequence length for UL transmission, such as during initial access, based on these factors.
Patent №: 12273741 – UL spatial relation switch for PUCCH, PUSCH and SRS. Methods and apparatus enable a UE to determine UL spatial relation for transmission when an unknown switch occurs. The UE checks if the relation is based on SRS (UL), CSI-RS (DL), or SSB (DL). If based on SRS, it uses the Tx beam of the SRS. If based on CSI-RS or SSB, the UE selects the spatial relation depending on whether beam training resources are unconfigured or beam info has expired.
Patent №: 12273176 – Enhancements to support TRP specific beam failure recovery. A user equipment (UE) connects to a base station, which assigns it two beams from different transmission reception points (TRPs) in frequency range 2 (FR2). The UE, which can’t receive multiple FR2 beams simultaneously, detects a beam failure during a BFD period, identifies candidate beams during a CBD period, and sends a beam failure recovery (BFR) request to the base station.
Patent №: 12273172 – Channel state information report for phase tracking reference signal port selection. A user equipment (UE) includes circuitry to communicate with an eNB over a wireless network. One part processes downlink transmissions with Phase Tracking Reference Signals (PT-RSes), while another generates uplink transmissions with a Layer Indicator (LI) based on the number of PT-RS antenna ports.
Patent №: 12273169 – Dynamically beamformed control channel for beamformed cells. Apparatuses, systems, and methods enable dynamic beamforming in control channels by transmitting downlink control messages over multiple OFDM symbols in a subframe. Different symbols can use different beamforming parameters and directions. Beam parameters and the number of OFDM symbols can be adjusted dynamically across subframes.
