Patent №: 12082275 (September 3, 2024) – Establishing a session or cellular internet of things packet transmission. An access and mobility management function (AMF) receives a session request from a wireless device. It sends a control plane CIoT request to a network repository function (NRF) to find a suitable session management function (SMF). After receiving an SMF instance from the NRF, the AMF sends a session establishment request for CIoT packet transmission to the SMF.

Patent №: 12082247 (September 3, 2024) – Resource selection using a listen before talk procedure. A base station provides downlink reference signals before random access channels (PRACHs) are available. A wireless device uses these signals to select multiple random access resources and, through a listen before talk (LBT) procedure, picks the first available clear resource.

Patent №: 12082226 (September 3, 2024) – Uplink transmission in a wireless communication system. A wireless device receives power control parameters for a PUSCH, specifying two sets of power values linked to indexes. Upon receiving downlink control information (DCI), it selects one set of power values and transmits a transport block using the power value with the lowest index from the selected set.

Patent №: 12082102 (September 3, 2024) – Multimedia priority service for wireless devices. A method involves a wireless device receiving a registration accept message with configuration parameters from an AMF. The device then receives a configuration update command for multimedia priority service (MPS) from the AMF. After receiving the MPS configuration, the device sends a PDU session establishment request to the AMF.

Patent №: 12082058 (September 3, 2024) – Communicating group-radio network temporary identifier during handover procedure. A method includes a first base station receiving TMGIs for MBS services from a wireless device; sending a handover request with these TMGIs to a second base station; receiving an acknowledgment with a G-RNTI from the second base station; and transmitting a radio resource control message with the G-RNTI to the wireless device.

Patent №: 12082055 (September 3, 2024) – Handover of user equipment with multimedia broadcast multicast services. A first base station receives a handover request from a second base station for a wireless device, including TMGIs for MBMS services and at least one bearer identifier. It responds with a handover request acknowledgment, accepting at least one bearer. The first base station then transmits transport blocks containing MBMS service data and bearer data to the wireless device.

Patent №: 12082053 (September 3, 2024) – Handover in unlicensed band. A wireless device receives a handover command from a base station to switch from a first cell to a second cell. During the handover, it receives a DCI from the second base station indicating a random access channel occasion, which it uses to transmit a preamble to the second base station.

Patent №: 12081966 (September 3, 2024) – Capability of positioning service level for wireless device. A Gateway Mobile Location Center (GMLC) receives a request from an LCS client for the positioning service level of a wireless device. It receives a message from a network function with positioning capabilities of the device or base station. The GMLC determines the positioning service level based on this information. It sends a response to the LCS client with parameters for absolute or relative positioning.

Patent №: 12081485 (September 3, 2024) – Uplink transmission cancellation. A wireless device receives a first uplink grant from a base station for a transport block (TB) in a HARQ process. It cancels the uplink transmission of the first TB upon receiving a pre-emption indication. After canceling, the device determines that a second uplink grant is for a new transmission of a second TB in the same HARQ process. The device then transmits the second TB to the base station.

Patent №: 12081390 (September 3, 2024) – Beam management with DRX configuration. A base station sends radio resource control messages to a wireless device with parameters for discontinuous reception and beam procedures. The device monitors a downlink control channel based on these parameters and, after detecting downlink control information (DCI), communicates packets.

Patent №: 12081328 (September 3, 2024) – Offset parameters for uplink control information. A wireless device receives control messages indicating uplink resources for periodic allocation and offsets for UCI transmission. It transmits a first UCI using the first uplink resources based on a given offset. After receiving downlink control information with an uplink grant and an offset indicator; it transmits a second UCI using the second uplink resources based on the indicated offset.

Geoffrey B Rhoads
In 1995, Geoff Rhoads founded Digimarc, a publicly traded company based in Oregon, United States, that offers digital identifiers, including QR codes and digital watermarks.
The company mainly offers these products and services to prevent counterfeiting, increase accuracy, and ensure product authenticity. Digimarc’s solutions are used in multiple industries, from health and beauty to automotive and manufacturing sectors.

Patent №: 12079861 (September 3, 2024) – Imagery and annotations. In a decade, a supermarket visit will be much more interactive than in the past. Product packaging will offer immersive experiences, created by brands, stores, and shoppers. Current technology focuses on how to create and deliver these interactive experiences, alongside other innovative features and technologies.

Electromechanical Engineer at Kaleidoscope Innovation and Product Design.
Patent №: 12076018 (September 3, 2024) –Modular stapling assembly.

A modular shaft assembly includes inputs for receiving and generating motions that are transferred to an end effector. The end effector may eject staples using a movable firing member or position jaw members using camming members.

Patent №: 12076010 (September 3, 2024) – Surgical instrument cartridge sensor assemblies. Cartridge assemblies for surgical instruments include sensors to identify tissue type and features or data for cartridge identification. Instruments can resolve conflicts if the physical features and stored data differ in identifying the cartridge type.

Patent №: 12076004 (September 3, 2024) – Surgical stapler having motor control based on an electrical parameter related to a motor current. The control system uses an H-bridge circuit with switching devices, a resistive element, and an inductive element to control the motor. It regulates the force applied to the drive system based on the current measured downstream of the resistive element.

Patent №: 12082162 (September 3, 2024) – Semi-static resource allocation for new radio integrated access and backhaul (IAB) Network.

The method includes decoding an RRC signal to identify a soft resource, determining the soft resource, and canceling an uplink transmission or downlink reception based on it.

Patent №: 12082116 (September 3, 2024) – System and method for uplink panel selection with power saving. If a user device changes position, it may deactivate one communication panel and activate another. The device sends a status update to a communication node. The node monitors signals to detect panel activation or deactivation. If no signal is detected, the node switches to another panel.

Patent №: 12082022 (September 3, 2024) – Apparatus and method for user equipment panel selection. The apparatus includes an RF interface to receive reference signals from a gNB and processor circuitry to determine beam quality for each panel. The UE reports the beam quality and corresponding panel information to the gNB.

Patent №: 12081346 (September 3, 2024) – Contention window size adjustment for retransmission operations. Some embodiments describe methods for retransmission in New Radio (NR) technologies. The method includes adjusting the contention window size (CWS) for an uplink/downlink (UL/DL) channel in the NR unlicensed spectrum, based on a reference burst set and code block groups (CBGs). It then schedules retransmission using the adjusted CWS.
