Patent №: 12096005 (September 17, 2024) – Encoder, encoding method, decoder, and decoding method. An encoder encodes a picture block by determining if intra prediction is needed. It generates and quantizes transform coefficients based on specific criteria, applying a second transform if necessary.

Patent №: 12094016 (September 17, 2024) –Method, information terminal, and non-transitory computer-readable recording medium. A method acquires menu information from a restaurant’s server based on a restaurant ID and retrieves religion information from another server. It then extracts foods compatible with the religion information, displays them for user selection, and sends the selected food order to the restaurant’s server.

Patent №: 12094015 (September 17, 2024) – Method, information terminal, and non-transitory computer-readable recording medium. A method involves acquiring menu information from a restaurant’s server using a restaurant ID, sending user identification to a first server, and receiving classification information. Based on this data, a personalized menu is generated and displayed on the user’s device, allowing them to place a food order.

Patent №: 12093996 (September 17, 2024) –Method for providing information. A method for providing information arranges menu items from a second restaurant based on the user’s taste preferences and the restaurant’s menu information. The menu data is obtained from a server and sorted according to the user’s taste, then sent to and displayed on the user’s terminal device.

Aed M Dudar
Aed Dudar is an Evap Monitor Subsystem Engineer at Ford, known for his work in the field of vehicle evaporative emissions systems. His expertise includes working with the evaporative leak check module (ELCM) and developing advanced diagnostics for vehicle sensors.
Patent №: 12094265 (September 17, 2024) – System and method for monitoring tires of a vehicle.
It starts by evaluating if a target location is suitable for tire monitoring. If fit, the vehicle initiates a monitoring mode, rotating the front and rear tires in opposite directions. Sensors monitor the tire rotation to detect any anomalies, and based on the findings, remedial actions are taken to address the detected issues.

Stefan Parkvall
Mr. Parkvall is a senior expert at Ericsson Research working with 5G and future radio access. He is one of the key persons in the development of HSPA, LTE. and NR radio access, and has been deeply involved in 3GPP standardization for many years.
Stefan served as an IEEE Distinguished lecturer 2011–2012, has co-authored several popular books such as 5G NR – The Next Generation Wireless Access, and was named Ericsson Inventor of the Year 2005.

Patent №: 12095571 (September 17, 2024) – HARQ codebook acknowledgement signaling for radio access networks. . The method involves transmitting acknowledgment signals based on a HARQ codebook at a second HARQ transmission occasion. The codebook includes first acknowledgment information related to data signaling received before an earlier, first HARQ transmission occasion.

Hong He
Standards Engineer at Apple.
Patent №: 12096463 (September 17, 2024) – UE handling of interlaced UL cancellation indication.

A wireless device requests uplink (UL) transmissions, receives a UL cancellation indication (CI), determines which UL resources to cancel, cancels those transmissions, and continues with UL transmissions that don’t overlap with the canceled resources.

Patent №: 12096456 (September 17, 2024) – Multiple PDSCH/PUSCH transmission scheduling with repetition. The method involves receiving control information from a base station that specifies time domain resources for at least two PDSCH or PUSCH transmissions and a repetition number for each transmission. The operation is then configured to receive or transmit these repeated PDSCH/PUSCH transmissions based on the provided resources and repetition number.

Patent №: 12096377 (September 17, 2024) –Beam management for emission power. This application relates to devices, systems, and methods for beam management, specifically for beams with reduced maximum transmission power.

Patent №: 12096365 (September 17, 2024) – Wake-up signal for discontinuous reception operations. A wake-up signal scheme between a network and user equipment (UE) in Discontinuous Reception (DRX) state is described. The UE monitors a wake-up signal (WUS) to check if it is received and if it identifies the UE. If identified, the UE monitors the OnDuration of the DRX cycle; otherwise, it stays in sleep mode during that OnDuration.

Patent №: 12096347 (September 17, 2024) – Switching mechanism between HST SFN scheme and NR single TRP and multi-TRP schemes. Mobile device switching schemes involve using an HST configuration when within range of a high-speed train’s TRP and switching to a non-HST configuration when out of range.

Patent №: 12095682 (September 17, 2024) – PDCCH transmission in RACH procedure for reduced capability devices. A base station configures a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) for UEs by dividing the component carrier bandwidth into sub-bands. It transmits a physical random access channel (PRACH) resource and a Type1-PDCCH CSS set on at least one sub-band, where the Type1-PDCCH CSS set corresponds to the PRACH resource.

Patent №: 12092750 (September 17, 2024) – Determining a position of a target UE using assisting UE signaling. Systems and methods allow a target user equipment (UE) to measure and report positioning signals from assisting UEs, estimate its position, or send data for external estimation. It also manages multiple signals and overlaps from different sources like transmission reception points (TRPs).

Esa Tapani Tiirola
Esa Tiirola is a Bell Labs Fellow who has worked with radio research and standardization for more than 20 years. Currently, his work is focused on 5G evolution and 6G.
Patent №: 12096410 (September 17, 2024) – Power saving for IoT radio systems.

The method involves a terminal device performing an operation on a sub-bandwidth part, determining the need for radio frequency retuning, switching to a bandwidth part operation, and then continuing the operation on the full bandwidth part.

Patent №: 12095697 (September 17, 2024) – PDCCH structure for coverage limited scenarios. In a first embodiment, a method includes a user equipment receiving a first physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) configuration from a network entity. The user equipment then detects at least one PDCCH based on this configuration and transmits or receives signals accordingly.
