Privately-held Arthrex has estimated revenues of $3.2 billion; Schmieding owns more than 90% of the company.

Schmieding is the son of German immigrants who moved to the U.S. just before he was born. His father, a dentist, wanted him to be a doctor.

Mr. Cerny is an American video game designer, programmer, producer and media proprietor.

Cerny has since frequently collaborated with Sony Interactive Entertainment as a consultant, including being the lead designer for the hardware of several PlayStation consoles and being called the architect of the PlayStation Vita, PS4 and PS5. 

He has also developed several games, notably the arcade game Marble Madness and the Knack series, and is credited with many more for his consulting work.

In 2004, he was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Game Developers Association and was inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame in 2010.

A method for graphics processing that involves multiple GPUs working together to render an image frame. During a pre-pass phase, the GPUs generate information about the geometry and its relation to various screen regions. Based on this information, screen regions are assigned to specific GPUs for rendering the geometry in the next phase.

A method for cloud gaming that involves generating video frames while running a game on a cloud server. These frames are encoded at a set bit rate and transmitted to a client. The method includes measuring the client’s maximum bandwidth and monitoring the encoding process. Based on this monitoring, the encoder’s parameters are dynamically adjusted to optimize performance.
