Patent №: 12028473 (July 2, 2024) – Portable multifunction device, method, and graphical user interface for configuring and displaying widgets. A portable multifunction device displays a widget on a touch screen and detects a gesture on its settings icon. It then shows user-adjustable settings for multiple widgets. The device detects additional gestures to change settings for these widgets, including those other than the first widget. Upon detecting a widget selection and finishing gesture, it displays a different widget.

Patent №: 12026352 (July 2, 2024) – Portable electronic device with interface reconfiguration mode. A portable electronic device displays multiple icons on a touch-sensitive screen. When a predefined user action is detected, the device initiates a user interface reconfiguration process, adjusting the positions of some icons around their average positions.

Patent №: 12026104 (July 2, 2024) – Multiple precision memory system.

Memory space is allocated based on the highest used precision. When not using maximum precision, only the necessary bits for the current precision level are transferred between the processor and memory. A floating point number is distributed across non-contiguous addresses, with each portion located at the same offset within access units, groups, or memory arrays. This allows the memory device’s sequencer to access the required units successively without additional memory channel requests.

Patent №: 12026261 (July 2, 2024) – Quarantine of software by an evaluation server based on authenticity analysis of user device data.

image 65

A user device sends a software evaluation request to an evaluation server. The server forwards software data to an authenticity server. Upon receiving the authenticity server’s evaluation results, the evaluation server determines if the software poses a security threat. If a threat is detected, the evaluation server instructs the user device to quarantine the software.

Patent №: 12028922 (July 2, 2024) – Beam failure recovery method and apparatus in wireless communication system. A method and apparatus for beam failure recovery in a wireless communication system are disclosed. The method includes a user equipment (UE) transmitting its capability information, including the maximum number of BFD-RSs per set, to a base station. The base station then sends configuration information related to at least one BFD-RS set, each containing no more than the maximum number of BFD-RSs supported by the UE.

Mr. Boroujeni received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Sharif University, Iran, in 1999, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Waterloo, Canada, in 2002 and 2008, respectively.

After being a Post-Doctoral Researcher with Princeton University, Mahmoud was with Ciena Corporation, Huawei Technologies Canada Company, and Interdigital.

Since 2019, he has been with Qualcomm, working on 5G design and standardization.

His research interests include MIMO communications, modulation design, multiple access, and signal processing for wireless communications.

Patent №: 12028895 (July 2, 2024) – Techniques for requesting coverage enhancement for random access procedures in wireless communications systems. Methods and systems for wireless communication are described, enabling a user equipment (UE) to request coverage enhancement for a random access procedure if the channel condition with a base station fails to meet a threshold. The UE uses a first random access message (Msg3) to request enhancement for a second message (Msg4). The base station then decides whether to provide coverage enhancement and transmits the second message accordingly. This approach improves coverage for random access procedures in wireless communication systems.

Patent №: 12028863 (July 2, 2024) – Dynamic indication of physical downlink control channel monitoring location. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication for downlink control information (DCI) communications, identifying a first PDCCH monitoring location for a first time period and a second PDCCH monitoring location for a subsequent time period. The UE monitors both locations based on this indication.
