Patent №: 11838911 (December 5, 2023) – Techniques for low-latency sidelink feedback transmission. This wireless communication system allows a device to receive data on sidelink channels and promptly send feedback on corresponding channels, reducing latency and improving reliability.
Patent №: 11838774 (December 5, 2023) – Transmission reception point specific beam failure recovery process. In this system, multiple transmission reception points (TRPs) send unique beam failure detection signals (BFD-RS) with their identifiers (IDs) to a scheduled entity. This entity, configured with specific medium access control (MAC) parameters, measures these signals and tracks beam failures per TRP ID. If the signal strength falls below a set threshold, the entity sends a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) linked to the affected TRP ID. This request, triggered by the MAC parameters, is then received by a scheduling entity for further action.
Patent №: 11838230 (December 5, 2023) – Access point assisted sidelink communications. This method optimizes wireless communications by configuring power parameters for sidelink communications between devices. By establishing power parameters based on the user equipment (UE) operating within an access point (AP) service area, Zhang’s invention aims to improve efficiency and reliability in sidelink communication.
Patent №: 11838916 (December 5, 2023) – Downlink control information design for multi-component carrier scheduling. In this wireless communication technique, a base station sends control signals to user equipment, detailing combined settings for two carriers. These settings include rate matching and zero power reference signals applicable to both carriers, with options for common or separate configurations.
Patent №: 11838947 (December 5, 2023) – Network controlled repeater operation at new radio-unlicensed band. This wireless communication system involves network-controlled repeaters operating on unlicensed radio bands. The repeaters receive scheduling messages from a base station, defining a specific time window for signal amplification.
Patent №: 11838917 (December 5, 2023) – Cross-carrier downlink control information scheduling. In cross-carrier scheduling, a base station sends a downlink control information (DCI) on one radio frequency carrier to manage a data channel on another carrier. This DCI can also indicate future transmissions on the second carrier. The base station may also send a DCI on the second carrier to schedule future transmissions on the first carrier.
Patent №: 11838939 (December 5, 2023) – Long-term-sensing-based inter-operator coexistence techniques for unlicensed high frequency bands. This system enhances network coexistence in unlicensed high-frequency bands using long-term sensing. It allows network entities to adjust communication channels based on sensing data, and user equipment can report these measurements for further network optimization.
Patent №: 11838950 (December 5, 2023) – Multi-opportunity grant and HARQ codebook for sidelink operations. In cross-carrier scheduling, a base station transmits a first downlink control information (DCI) on one radio frequency (RF) carrier to schedule a data channel on a second RF carrier. The base station can transmit a second DCI on the second carrier’s data channel to schedule future DCI transmissions on the first carrier’s data channel.
Patent №: 11838159 (December 5, 2023) – Techniques for a combined cyclic prefix and guard interval-based waveform. This innovation facilitates wireless communications between the user equipment (UE) and the base station, utilizing a combined cyclic prefix and guard interval-based waveform format. By transmitting control signaling that indicates a slot configuration, this invention allows wireless devices to identify and communicate during a specific slot in a format optimized for reliable and efficient data transfer.

Patent №: 11838928 (December 5, 2023) –Dynamic resource management, which revolutionizes access node communications.
This technology involves an access node monitoring uplink and downlink resource release indications signalled by a parent access node and a child access node. By efficiently scheduling released resources, this innovation enhances communication capabilities, particularly between parent and child nodes.
Patent №: 11838066 (December 5, 2023) – Default radio link monitoring reference signal (RLM-RS) determination procedure in new radio (NR). This invention focuses on efficient methods and apparatus for determining radio link monitoring reference signals (RLM-RS) in communication systems operating on NR standards. By proactively monitoring the radio link based on predetermined resources, this technology optimizes wireless communications, ensuring seamless connectivity and enhancing overall system performance.
VP Global Packaging Development at Plastipak Packaging Inc.
Dick Darr has been in plastics since he was a teenager. At 16 he began working after school in a small injection molding company. After graduation continued with Plasticraft in Wadsworth, Ohio as a process technician and advanced to a shift supervisor in late 1967.
He started with Plastipak Packaging Inc. in February 1971 as a Production Manager, Plant manager and multiple positions in Development within Plastipak. In 2000 was named Vice President of Global Packaging Development and is a member of the Plastipak Packaging Inc. Executive Steering Team.
Mr. Darr has been actively involved in the development of PET Stretch Blow Molding since 1978. He has been involved in the Development of Plastic Aerosol Containers for the past 10 years through the launch of the Febreeze aerosol package in 2017. He attributes his singular success in plastics to his early exposure to all aspects of the field.
