Centurion+ Patent Holders as of December 5, 2023
Welcome to the 5th of December 2023: Our goal is to celebrate the patent holders who have reached noteworthy milestones in their fields this week.
Peter S Gaal
Vice President, Technical Standards at QUALCOMM.
Patent №: 11838916 (December 5, 2023) – Downlink control information design for multi-component carrier scheduling. A base station transmits downlink control information (DCI) to user equipment for two component carriers (CCs) in carrier aggregation. This includes joint indications for rate matching and zero power channel state information reference signals, applicable to both CCs.
Patent №: 11838907 (December 5, 2023) –Simultaneous feedback information and uplink shared channel transmissions. User equipment (UE) in a wireless system receives a status for overlapping uplink transmissions, generating control information for simultaneous shared and control channel transmissions on different uplink carriers.
Patent №: 11838893 (December 5, 2023) – Resource selection and reservation for cooperative relay in sidelink networks. In wireless communications, source user equipment (UE) uses relays to transmit groupcast messages with cooperative MIMO techniques. The UE reserves resources for transmission, communicated through control messages. In case of resource overlap, priority-based selection determines which communication is transmitted.
Patent №: 11838232 (December 5, 2023) – Configuration of aperiodic sounding reference signal transmission and triggering. In wireless communications, a base station sends a grant to user equipment (UE) for transmitting an aperiodic sounding reference signal (A-SRS), specifying the timing based on a transmission time interval (TTI) offset. The UE calculates the appropriate TTI for A-SRS transmission and the base station monitors this transmission.
Patent №: 11838083 (December 5, 2023) – Sequence based uplink control channel coexistence, focuses on addressing the challenge of simultaneous transmission of different types of uplink payloads in a resource block. Gaal’s invention enables user equipment (UE) to construct a codebook of sequences, facilitating efficient multiplexing of multiple payload types within a resource block.
Patent №: 11838135 (December 5, 2023) – Semi-persistent scheduling management in New Radio, he describes methods, systems, and devices for efficient wireless communication between base stations and user equipment (UE). This technology involves activating a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configuration based on signalling from the base station, ensuring reliable downlink transmissions.
Patent №: 11838950 (December 5, 2023) – Multi-opportunity grant and HARQ codebook for sidelink operations. User equipment (UE) in a sidelink transmission receives a grant indicating multiple listen-before-talk (LBT) opportunities, selects the earliest suitable slot based on LBT results, and communicates with another UE in that slot.
Patent №: 11838966 (December 5, 2023) – Separate L1-report with long index for out-of-cell beams. User equipment (UE) can pause report occasions and receive out-of-cell reporting configurations from a base station. This includes parameters for reporting layer one (L1) channel information for out-of-cell beams. The UE then sends this L1 channel information back to the base station, aiding in beam selection and facilitating simultaneous access to another base station.
Patent №: 11838750 (December 5, 2023) – Techniques for intra-user equipment and inter-user equipment cancelation of overlapping communications. Wireless communication systems utilize scheduling constraints to manage overlapping uplink transmissions, prioritizing intra-device over inter-device cancellation. Decisions made based on earlier grants or preemption indications remain unchanged despite later-received grants, ensuring efficient transmission handling.
